The picture was put on by Bob as the one he had ,so hopefully he still has the OBV picture for you 🙂

Not my picture Pete. I was commenting on someone else's pic. I'll see if I can find my pic. It has been a few years back, when I sold it.

I read a thread...........1876 Penny No H.... which you put the picture of the 1870 Dot on saying you had sold one and Gouby nad noted one in his book.So just assumed why you only new of two at the time the picture was your own.

POSTED at the same time bob put his pictures up 😂

Sorry, I don't understand....

i hadn't got a reasonable one like this, and it took some finding.

Are they really common amongst members?

It's a pretty good specimen Blake. Well captured.

For those who haven't heard of them, take a look at this picture from Gouby's "The British Bronze Penny 1860 to 1901", page 86.

You don't understand that I don't understand. However, a picture tells more than words, so now it makes sense. I lost the will to live long before I got to page 86.

Ohh...maybe I understand that you don't understand, but now I know you do.

You not a Penny Freak then Rob?

I had to fix my vacuum cleaner because it sucked because it didn't.

Fixed it and now it doesn't suck because it does.

I do have a selection of bronze pennies in the collection, but only about a dozen. I am still looking for a couple of bronze patterns plus a KN.

Most of my pennies wouldn't appeal to a majority of members here being either hammered or Maundy.

There is also an 1890 wider date that is unrecorded and not in Gouby.

Just thought i would make you aware Rob 🙂

Thanks Pete.

I'm sure I have that very wide date on a worn example - noticed it years ago in a pile of 1890's.

Not sure if a good one commands a premium..

There may also be a narrow date version of the 1890 - although it's not in Gouby. The poster @scott posted this nearly three years ago.

Not totally convincing, but no harm in showing.

No ,your right Blake ..The one i have that is NEF was £40 described as a wide date unrecorded and dont think many collectors are interested in the date widths.

CGS have 5 widths recorded for 1890 with the one Scott pictured being different from the 1 to the 9 ,although the full width is the same as the narrow date.
