Rob Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Almost every collection has a name put to it eventually, the only caveat being that it does need to have sufficient quality to be memorable. You can't buy in total isolation and so hide your identity indefinitely, eg, I was able to put a name to Declan's acquaintance with the old milled gold a couple years ago on the back of a date and a coin or two. PWA 1967 Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Lot 2360 UNC and lustre is obviously an error Quote
Nordle11 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Lot 653 is also wrong, they seem to sell a lot of these so called 'errors' which are clearly just vice jobs Quote
PWA 1967 Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Maybe i didnt explain myself properly Matt. By an error i meant in the listing the coin is not close ,especially the reverse to being UNC and lustrous Quote
PWA 1967 Posted February 29, 2016 Author Posted February 29, 2016 Just looking again think they are describing another coin maybe. Quote
jelida Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 The images for 2354 and 2360 have been transposed. Jerry Quote
Nordle11 Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I knew what you meant I was just complaining about something else haha Quote

RLC35 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Does anyone know what the 1861, 6 over 8 went for? Lot #2386. Quote
Colin G. Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) I feel really bad because I didn't get all the viewing done yesterday, therefore I was still viewing this morning, and by the time I finished, the lots I was after were up. Once bidding had finished on the ones I wanted the pennies started, so I saw you guys from a distance but didn't want to chat to you whilst the penny lots were on and then just wanted to get home Honestly I am not ignorant I was in a grey jumper and wearing a very stylish beard The farthings were quite strong in places, with top graded slabs really pushing prices up but them others were quite favourable. I left the penny boys to it, but there seemed to be a few phone bidders waiting for some. Edited March 6, 2016 by Colin G. Quote

And £200 was my bid so gone to someone with deeper pockets. Quote
Colin G. Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 @mrbadexample I am sure it was higher than £200 Quote
