I think we did start a thread on contemporary counterfeits I have Coleman and the more advanced book by R Moore et al which I'm using now a lot for research I agree they are fascinating but complicated but let me know if you need me to look anything up. Happy to help -

There are a whole series issued with 1739 Coleman only mentions 1 yours looks like one of the Curly Hair families they are not a very researched group but with dates 1729;1739; 41; 49;50 -

No not really been in a bit of a selling mode and been buying art it's easier to see and doesn't need a microscope. I had to get all my windows and doors replaced so sold a few rare pennies half pennies. Hope you are well.

thank you for helping him out The issue seemed to be that the Grading company had limited capacity to work out a tooth from a bead . But once the gospel is set in plastic iti s hard to speak other than their written word... the worst one I had was a beautiful 1837 penny which was slabbed in fact a half penny..... you just can't get the staff.... Ebay seem to be getting a little lost with their reporting . I saw a seller the other day selling an 1882 penny no H and an 1850 shilling. All shilling fakes from china have a flaw on the right ride of the acorn wreath half way up ..the copies are quite good and when you get them they obviously are not silver... however I had a message saying that the report had been checked by an AI investigative tool and found "not be in violation of the listing policy " rather silly really because if they could grasp that these flaws exist they could learn by experiences when something looks like a fake it usually is one ...the audacity !!!!LOL that the machine new better than MEMEME !!!!!LOL Merry Christmas everyone
