  1. I want to attract more wildlife but the cats kill everything.
  2. It's really difficult to introduce some height and cover for birds without trees and shrubs.
  3. This is the earliest one I can find of the front - we'd just poked a few bulbs in. I'll take a few tomorrow to compare how it is now.
  4. The strawberry trough etc we brought from my old house, there was nothing here at all except grass, stone and tarmac.
  5. Our garden doesn't have the maturity of most of yours, and it has a few challenges. This Google Earth shot shows it before we moved in in March 2017 - it was owned by a builder who stored a lot of his stuff there but wasn't interested in the garden. It's a new build and at the end of the plot so the garden is much bigger than the neighbours' but at a price - there are drains and water storage tanks under parts of it where we can't plant trees or shrubs in case of root damage. I have a "protected strip" 3m wide running right through it from front to back.
  6. You're the one hoarding the rice then? I had to make do with herbs.
  7. What've you got, a price guide by Parker's?
  8. I can see the base of the cuirasse and the 9 of the date. But opposite there, between the IUS of GEORGIUS and the bust, are marks I can't reconcile with the 8R. Similarly under the T of GRATIA.
  9. When I first saw the marks I thought it was the undertype but they didn't seem right to me, I couldn't see the design. Could it have been overstruck more than once?
  10. Me too. Made a bird table yesterday from stuff I had in the garage.
  11. Oh, don't worry, I wrote that when I was in one of my good moods.
  12. Thanks John. I'm surprised I've not spotted that before. I've had a look through Richard's to see where it pops up across the series. Must pay more attention.
  13. I've just noticed that the second A in BRITANNIAR is filled at the bottom. Mine's the same. Are they all like that?
  14. I can't remember what I paid for mine. How much was it Pete?
  15. I'm not convinced those haven't had a bit of grown-up tinkering somewhere along the line, but the first couple made me chuckle.
  16. I'm not sure you can Paddy, but I've noticed recently there's an option to send an offer to interested parties, so presumably you pick a number and it automatically sends it to those watching. It's the blanket spam button I think.
  17. Does anyone else feel that, coming from a "General Manager", this is a completely unprofessional response made with little or no regard to the question asked? I'm not sure it's any better than no response at all.
  18. We're a plague, nothing less. If I had a big red button that would wipe humanity from the face of the planet, I'd probably press it.
  19. Depends on how you class the i. I had "seriousness" initially but didn't like using the i because it's not as short as the rest. Plus you could stick an s on the end to make 14, should you so wish.
  20. It was originally listed as "scarce open 3 variety".......
  21. It is. I've often been impressed how the penny guys can identify even the most knackered of washers, but when it comes to halfpennies there don't seem to be as many pointers. I'm getting better but frequently have to resort to counting border teeth to pin down reverses. There seems to be very little in the way of colon pointings etc.
