  1. Jerry if you notice on a lot of the busts although they are all obverse 6 they are not all the same in design. Some are high relief some low relief. The very top picture has the widest rim edges of all which in comparison to the bottom picture where the rim edge is the thinnest. Also position of the bust relative to the toothed border changes as does the teeth. i'll have a count up on the 1860 and see if it differs . Scuppered coin has almost all teeth obscured from 10 to 2 on a clock
  2. your wish is my command but look at this. all these are obverse 6 from 1860-1863 of mine but notice the bottom coin which is from 1860 no die flaw and the colons are different in make up. all obv 6 colons line up with the gap. the bottom coin 1860 no die flaw lines up with the border tooth
  3. that flaw on the C is almost present on all obv 6's certainly the coins I have all exhibit that flaw
  4. I think customs in general are shocking 2 weeks ago I received a padded envelope with a coin from italy. package was ripped and coin was missing. Italy is really bad for theft of coins. I have dealers in Israel,Portugal,spain.france,germany,Switzerland. All use either tracked or ordinary airmail and I have touch wood never had an incident. Nor have I through royal mail for any type of postage. Just seems customs are more interested in ripping things open than the care of the items being delivered. Training courses for all I suggest. The items don't belong to them as should be treated the way they would expect valuable items of their own to be treated. Not much to ask is it?
  5. yes only when the customs forms are used on postage. it is really sad they jump on everything and they just chuck the contents back in no thought for the value of stuff esp coins. If you have a good rep with the sellers and they send it priority mail then there isn't an issue. I had a coin that had been through customs when I got it instead of it being BU it was used as an ice hockey puck first by the state of it . And it isn't fair tbh as when you show the seller they think you're trying to pull a fast one. And it's a real shame as I have in the past met some smashing dealers from canada and always reasonable prices. Don't ask Michael Gouby though bit of a sore subject
  6. Took a punt thought I saw something and it turned out to be a new variety type on this coin series. 1835 farthing GRBATIA R/B error nice sound to it almost Jamaican-esq GRBATIA Man
  7. Also now I have both coins at hand the 1861 D have distinct differences as well. The trident prongs are thicker on C1 and the distance to the border teeth is less on C1 . BRitannia's thumb lays over the inner circle line of the shield and her thumb seems shorter and fatter (could be wear on the fat part but that wouldn't shorten the thumb) on C1. C2 her thumb is slender and sits between the inner and outer lines of the shield and C2 has the ship floating which it doesn't on C1
  8. I noticed also on the 1860 reverse D the ship is floating and not on 1861. and the helmet plume at the top is closer to the border? unless the 1860 isn't reverse D? I am looking at the left end of the exergue line and it doesn't seem to curve upwards as it does on the 1861?
  9. Oh I did omit a vital factor which for the life of me I can't see why I left it off. Thinking too far ahead as usual. Both are reverse D but one is 1860 and the other is 1861
  10. Lymes disease is pretty serious stuff. My friends son has it. No cure for it. Just copers.
  11. If it's not a variety why do they class 1 over lower 1 recut a variety? and it isn't just a mispunch like on all the coins of this era where for the most part most of the coins have some form of repunching but 99% of those are the same and predominantly horizontal. To miss by that much is however way you look at it a mistake and is not a typical re punch. Won't hold a massive premium like a R/B or B/R but i'll have a wager with you that if you put that coin up for sale with another shilling same grade this coin will sell for a lot more. Just because it doesn't interest all collectors in the purist form there are plenty that will snap it up because it is a minor variety something not seen regularly. What would the call be if every letter on that coin was repunched the same offset would it be classed still as a non variety? I think not so 1 letter or 20 letters it's a minor variety as it appears more than once on the year but in the handfuls if that 1825 / higher 5 farthing comes to mind and the 1837/7 misaligned both carry hefty premiums.
  12. Westminster collections website description Go on their website it's a .com and enlarge the image of the coins they have as the examples they are very badly made the gap between the 2 metals starts close but ends up 3 times as wide and its all uneven 2018 Isle of Man TT Race £2 Coin duo This year marks 60 years since fan favourite, ‘Mike the Bike’ first raced the International Isle of Man TT and 40 years since his triumphant return. 13. Couldn't tell you I don't understand freemans observations on half pennies. He must of used google earth satellite imaging to see what he saw
  14. Of course not i just forget to put Richard at the end of my posts which is really strange as apart from here i sign my name everywhere lol Richard
  15. its smee my name that I use here was taken the bastards lol
  16. Also I think this maybe the early start of the cannonball die flaw?
  17. this is almost impossible to really make a definite assumption but the rock looks further from the lighthouse and closer to the linear circle but it might just be wear?
  18. Bit of an anomaly these are both reverse D coins I snapped together this morning there seems to be a difference in the design of the helmet. the top part one has a convex curve to the peak and the other a concave curve making one much more rounded?
  19. Won't be voted prettiest coin of the year for sure but a gaper nonetheless If I have done my homework which if I were still at school the answer would of been .Homework? what's that? . This should be F17 Obverse 6 reverse D ? Please put me wise even on these old gapers it's hard to tell. thanks Oh and notice this obverse is without the usual flaw on the top colon after F:D:
  20. I also am a frequent user having narcolepsy and cataplexy and have had to research my own medication because the so called Consultants are out of touch and the guy who is my consultant even forgot to contact the then PCT to request my medication be sanctioned . How can you forget when you are dealing with somebody else's life? I still am 1 of 62 in the entire UK who was allowed the medication. Another thing I find extremely distressing having to go cap in hand for medication that should be given without jumping through bureaucracy and postcode lottery hoops. The NHS is failing and unless they open their eyes a see that people do actually live longer and more people are alive than in 1945 and the money needed is a damn sight more than they give. I nearly lost my daughter whilst she was giving birth due to the incompetence of the nursing staff not doing their jobs correctly. She ended up fitting and losing 4 pints of blood. So whilst I agree for the most part the Nurses do an exceptional job under real pressure and are not paid what they are worth not all of the NHS is perfect especially when it comes to midwifery
  21. Agreed amazing how detailed it is even after all those years buried.
  22. That looks bloody awful as well lol. If I open the pack then my claim would be nullified . But the bike is clear even through the plastic housing. It's either contaminated of they don't strike BU coins how they used to
  23. Can you read the number 57 on the bike? . Some of the close marks are on the plastic but that long hirline is on her cheek . I don't even know what design is on the bike as there isn't anything even remotely visible
