  1. Clumsiest example I've ever seen. Couldn't even be bothered to match the portraits. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scarce-double-headed-penny-George-V/283636549584?hash=item420a0e47d0:g:sqEAAOSwqZNdm9dO
  2. Nose job ("I'll have 'The Pixie' please.") and false lashes.
  3. You would think, by now, he'd at least know what a dump farthing looks like. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/George-Farthing-1717-Unrecorded-Last-7-Inverted-RARE/233359054885?hash=item3655489825:g:YVMAAOSwfttdlj9C
  4. …and a new listing from the same seller. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1841-Victorian-Half-Crown-Good-Condition/174035014567?hash=item28854b93a7:g:z~8AAOSw4RBdgmH8
  5. No Chris, definitely silver.
  6. Late 1960s: I found this in the street.
  7. As already stated, a normal 63 with grot on the last digit. Here for comparison: normal/the 3 with grot/the 3 with grot erased.
  8. Sorry to be a bother people, but I really felt I needed to come back in with this one. VF WTF???? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1863-PENNY-BRITISH-COIN-FROM-VICTORIA-VF/362715235474?hash=item5473834492:g:ggwAAOSwul9dQvps
  9. I thought I might dip in to see if Buckscoins gradings had improved during the past week or two. I didn't yet get past the first listing. aEF? Dear me. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1858-PENNY-BRITISH-COIN-FROM-VICTORIA-aEF/202747462453?hash=item2f34b0c335:g:BL0AAOSwy1ZdSWlX
  10. £11,000? What a lightweight….. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Extremely-Rare-2p-New-Pence-Coin-1971-Old-Original/383122593338?hash=item5933e2d63a:g:-~cAAOSw0w5dZAKE I love that this div is offering £1.50 P&P on a 56 grand listing.
  11. I just love this. Good old Iris. If you're in need of cheering up the seller's other offerings are worth a squint too: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/boutiqueunique2015/m.html?item=362689455958&hash=item5471f9e756%3Ag%3All0AAOSw2jFceerJ&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 Oh, and check out the top item in seller feedback. Clearly bollocks, but is this kind of lying also illegal? https://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=boutiqueunique2015&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller&ftabfocus=true&searchInterval=30
  12. What's this price guide she's using? If her 1887s are 'sitting' at these valuations then lord knows what everything else must be valued at. We all must be holding riches beyond our wildest imaginings... First thing tomorrow morning I shall swap my inverted 1 1820 sixpence for a winged unicorn (unipegasus?), just because I can afford to, then flutter about showering the hoi polloi with the beneficence which would be my half-chewed Greggs vegan sausage rolls. Er, no rubbish mind, we're talking king size here. Make sure you're up and out early...
  13. Book prices and where they sit. What's she on about now? This is for a superb 1887 Victoria jubilee head silver double florin ARABIC 1 IN THE DATE THE COIN IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION has a slight mark near the date but nothing major IN MY VALUATION BOOK SITS AT A PRICE OF £550 in unc condition My grade is vf+.. 483.347 minted This is for a Victoria 1887 jubilee head silver half crown this is a stunner My grade EF PLUS TO UNC but that's my grade so please view yourself . Although it is a FANTASTIC collector's coin An absolute asset to a fantastic collection this is what collectors call a gem one you really don't want to miss... the coin is in fabulous condition Almost unc but thats my view so please view yourself In my valuation book in unc condition it sits at £450 1, 438.046 minted I like this from the 1887 crown description too: THIS IS AN AUCTION SO WHO WILL START ME IF THERE IS TONE ON MY COINS THEN THE TONE YOU SEE ON MY COINS IS THE TONE THAT IT IS Where's Alan Turing when you need him?
  14. Collecting these is my thing and finding the errors is great fun. Could be but, as you and Chris both say, the jury is out until another/better specimen turns up. Something I would draw your attention to though is the upright bar of both the disputed first L and that of the second. Compare these with that of the E, which is much thicker. If the first L was an E wouldn't the uprights be similar? Obviously, a blocked die might account for the difference, but it is something worth considering. Either way, on the visual evidence as it stands, were you to describe it as 'GIVEIELMVS' I don't think anyone would object.
  15. And still buyers don't question why all her silver, regardless of origin, age, condition, has the same artificial appearance. Some of those which have really been gone to town on are absolutely horrible.
  16. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1879-PENNY-BRITISH-COIN-FROM-VICTORIA-aEF/312700908749?hash=item48ce6d34cd:g:JYwAAOSwzi5dLJs9 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SCARCE-1860-PENNY-BRITISH-COIN-FROM-VICTORIA-R7-GVF-VF/312700896568?hash=item48ce6d0538:g:Q-AAAOSwY7hdLJYP https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1866-PENNY-BRITISH-COIN-FROM-VICTORIA-VF/312700898560?hash=item48ce6d0d00:g:31AAAOSwdd5dLJcQ
  17. If told this was a Marlybob grading I would have believed it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RARE-1871-PENNY-BRITISH-COIN-FROM-VICTORIA-R8-aF/362701167354?hash=item5472ac9afa:g:fiUAAOSwC4FdLJiy
  18. Seeing these listings I'm wondering if someone else is grading at the moment? They're usually pretty accurate. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/British/3394/m.html?item=202734154926&hash=item2f33e5b4ae%3Ag%3AiZ0AAOSwB99dLJWW&_ssn=buckscoins
  19. ...may be the face I can't forget The trace of pleasure or regret May be my treasure or the price I have to pay She may be the song that summer sings Maybe the chill that autumn brings Maybe a hundred different things Within the measure of a day She may be the beauty or the beast May be the famine or the feast May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell She may be the mirror of my dreams A smile reflected in a stream She may not be what she may seem Inside her shell - dons shop Er, I'll get me coat...
  20. It gets worse. Did you see this from the same seller? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHAD-VALLEY-VERY-RARE-OLD-TEDDY-BEAR-WHAT-IS-IT/264303365934?hash=item3d89b54f2e:g:PFIAAOSw8cNUQ6OU old teddy bear or is it. I have had this bear for nearly 50 years. it was given to my mother for me before I was born. it is a chad valley bear . it has a blue label. I am looking for information on what type of bear it is. have been told its from the 1950/60s .
  21. That rounded edge; lovely. No idea what it is and so looking for information on it, however, in the meantime, would anyone like to buy it for £10,000? The lunatics have taken over the asylum.
  22. dorigog0 takes it to the next level…. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANCIENT-ROMAN-COIN/283570891086?hash=item420624694e:g:UxEAAOSwctxdR-p1
  23. And since removed. Funny that….
  24. What a surprise. The replica gothic crown (stunning tone!!!) was sold and relisted three or four times before she grew tired of it and moved on to something else.
