Nice Chris. Could those incuse (?) marks to the lower right of the eagle also be chop/test marks? Do you know which of the Ptolemys yours is? If I remember correctly there were ten plus Cleo. You can ID using the monogram in the field to the left of the eagle.

I've had this for at least 25 years and only this evening bothered to get it out and take a proper look ('Ooh Matron'). I've been Googling for information on ancient merchant's test chop marks but haven't come up with all that much so far. There's plenty to be had on 18th and 19th century silver coins with Chinese chop marks and I see also, who knew, some collectors clubs. I have found a few mentions of ancient test marks on tetradrachms but the information is scant to say the least. Should anyone here know about these I'd be grateful if you'd take a few minutes to share. Ta.

PS: Actually, looking at it again, your coin may be a decent contemporary counterfeit. There are a several described as 'fish lips' portrait, and yours possibly fits the bill (or should that be fits the lips). Any opinions regarding this are welcomed.

Re. 3 over 7: Not sure to be honest. Even though worn, your coin shows evidence of having been struck from very tired dies. Might it be yet another case of chipping/cud?* Look at how obvious the overstrike is on Colin Cooke's coin, both digits are clear. Note also the horizontal bar of the 7 is in line with that of the 3. On your coin what may be an underlying horizontal bar is lower, and sticking out slightly on the right. *(Chipping Cud, isn't that one of those places where the entitled hold their kitchen suppers? )

There's something there with the 3, but the reverse die doesn't match Cooke's 364. 364: first leg of the second N points to the wrist. End of spear points to the one. There is a space between the two sevens, etc.

Absolutely Rob. Look at the obverse Ts on this 1700. And what's that under the IV, an O?

Returning to the original topic: These are described as I over A or I over inverted V, but they're neither of these are they? That limb, showing to the right of the I, isn't a match for either. Here's a 1700 I have which shows the same limb to the right of the T and, while we're at it, what's that going on to the left of the T? Yes, I know it's a horrible specimen, but it's the only one I've seen apart from Nicholson's (144), and mine is a shade better than that one. Same die. Note the extra blob above the olive branch.

Having Peck's Monatgu 03 half penny affords me a little warm glow inside….

Nicholson 053. Yes. Yours, mine, the Nicholson, all the same die. Extremely rare but, as you say, not only two as seen by Peck when compiling. As is the way with these things, new examples appear over time. Check out past DNW sales.

This one is as rare as hen's teeth. Here's mine own for comparison. Not great, but the best I found/was willing to pay for in the past 20 years. Comparing this with your imgur photos I think, yes, we can determine a match.

Over graded, and I'm seeing a few spots of verd on the reverse too. Helmet, right arm, rim teeth below the O, etc.
