She has form. Scrap metal coins all with the same artificial tone (see Paddy's post) then, every so often, a high end replica coin having been given the same treatment. Seriously, I don't understand how bidders (apart from the shills that is), don't stop to think how someone who peddles all this crap has, every now and then, one or two items supposedly worth so much.

Ah, Marlybob. See previous page (404).

Yup. I still have mine, which my Dad gave me at the time. 'Put that away and keep it lad, it'll be worth a fortune one day.' he said, as we picked at the Vesta Chow Mein Mum had served up on our best Franklin Mint plates...

This from that article. Not working terribly well then, is it. "We invest over £6m each year in state-of-the-art technology to detect shill bidding and other illegal activities. This acts as a strong deterrent to the small minority who attempt to use our site inappropriately but, more than this, it helps us to work with law enforcement agencies to secure successful prosecutions if anyone decides to try their luck."

Plenty of bids from those two left on the 1844 crown and the 1902 Morgan dollar. Quelle surprise. There oughta be a law…..

Several times she states what an honest person she is. Attempting to sell a valuable item she suspects may have been stolen from her local church? Honest? I am reminded of the saying: 'The louder he talked of his honour, the faster we counted the spoons'…..

Excellent points, succinctly made Chris. Re. the Whitman folder in which the 1933 penny was supposedly discovered; here are her notes for the 1911 she has listed. It was removed and is being sold separately because she considers it to be the best coin from the set. WHAT? A bog standard 1911 the best from a set which includes a genuine 1933???!!! Oh, and I see she's adding the weird toning colours to bronze too now. Welcome to sheldons shop First .My phone tells me when my items are ending .Any item without a bid gets relisted on the last 15 mins of the auction so to secure an item simply place a bid THIS IS FOR A STUNNING 1911 GEORGE V BRONZE ONE PENNY COIN THAT I TOOK OUT OF A WHITMAN SET THAT I GOT FROM THE PARRISH TABLETOP SALE.... The divilment welling up in me (I really should get out more), I thought I might have a bit of fun with this one, but on attempting to contact her I find I am blocked. Reading the entire revised listing it could be taken to mean she is attempting to sell an item she either suspects is, or knows to be, stolen. Customer service related larks anyone?

She is the gift which keeps on giving.

She's really gone to town with it on the Morgan dollar and the 1844 crown Paddy. Fakes always readily available.

Extreme Verd on George V coins
Michael-Roo replied to Sword's topic in British Coin Related Discussions & Enquiries
And how about that duelling scar on the 2d obverse. I didn't know old Georgie had it in him. -
Now listing under the name 'Sheldon's Shop', if you please. And that weird toning which she adds to all her silver coins; how has that been done, heat? Does it not occur to her anyone viewing the listings would wonder why they all have this same odd colour regardless of origin, age, or state of preservation? I see the 1820 sixpence has a couple of bids sitting on it so has now been spotted as an inverted 1, though I doubt she is aware of the variety otherwise would've written another essay. Rare it may be but in that condition, and with a whopping great lump of ex-mount solder, I wouldn't want it if she was giving it away.

Another tempting Churchill listing from dorigog0…... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1965-Uncirculated-Winston-Churchill-Commemorative-Crown-Coin/283555066364?hash=item420532f1fc:g:6KAAAOSwfmldM7~x

Thought it'd be fun to remind everyone on here of this message several of us received last week from the person who listed the ordinary 1909 as an F169 and wanted a thousand squid for it: New message from: lifeasas-64 (54) iv had everything evaluated and been advised in detail on the value and specs of each item , Here are the current listings. Advised then by a raving lunatic, obviously….. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/lifeasas-64/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

Hurrah. It has been taken down.

Maybe they ask the seller to remove it first? Pete may know more. That fake marlybob1 gothic crown is listed as having been sold at least four times since April 9th, so there must be a reason she has to keep returning with it. You'll note too it having acquired the toning sometime between then and her next listing in May. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Coins/58520/i.html?_from=R40&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=1847+gothic+crown&rt=nc

Well, you know what you all and your 'site' (why the inverted commas?) can do, don't you. I was hoping for 'so called experts' but alas... I have this exchange from yesterday too Jerry. Couldn't be bothered to continue with it any further. New message from: lifeasas-64 (54) They are my genuine pictures I used one “auction Photo “ for comparison and iv had majority of these looked at and valued anyway so I know what they are worth , it’s a slaggging off site and iv screen shotted the comments they made and I will be reporting anyway Reply Your previous message All I wanted to do was let you know your identification of the 1909 penny as F169 2+E is incorrect, and I sent you the photo of a true one as an example. Your coin is the common type and only worth a pound or so. The other coins you have listed likewise have very little commercial value. You told me you have 460 rare coins, why not offer some of those for sale on Ebay instead? Collectors will always pay good prices for items of value. Predecimal members use that page to circulate information about people attempting to pass off fakes as genuine coins, and when the fakes are identified they are reported to Ebay. Members also use the page to swap information on listings which are incorrect and/or come with silly asking prices. No one is suggesting your penny is fake, but it is common, you have misidentified it as a rarity, and have used a London Coins Auctions photo of someone else's genuine rare penny in your listing. 'Rang' means worn, worthless, only fit for the bin. lifeasas-64: iv taken pictures of those nasty comments and names and users and will be reporting them to eBay and the site itself of which iv just registered with , as im going by what my evaluation has told me , their not fake , or RANG whatever that means, how dare you all be so bitchy , I thought that behaviour was for children in the playground Your previous message Not intended to be negative or anything of the sort, I'm simply pointing out it isn't the die paring you've described it as. If it were F169 the '1' in the date would be directly above a tooth, and it isn't. Yes, I'm sure you have lots of rare coins. I've just seen the LOVELY 1898 penny you've added. Please see the latest posts at predecimal.com forum > 'ebay's worst offerings' for what people are saying about your listings. lifeasas-64: as much as I appreciate your negative comments, I have a collection of over 460 rare coins , all evaluated and I can confirm all evaluations, and conditions of the coins , many thanks Your previous message Hi L. Not even close. This is what it should be. Kind regards.

Quite right Pete. How about this from him instead then? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1898-Queen-Victoria-One-Penny-Coin-Bronze-United-Kingdom/401797984999?hash=item5d8d06b2e7:g:I94AAOSwQWldFVCN

Stuff to Make Us Laugh
Michael-Roo replied to Madness's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
You're quite right Chris, even the police being called because neighbours hear a woman screaming; 'Get off me!!' doesn't seem to bother them. If it were a man living on your road you'd avoid him. And the sheaves of unpaid parking tickets? Laws are for the oiks. BTW: no idea how that clip came to be loaded twice and with so much white space between them. Could someone in admin fix this please?
