    Exactly. You just can't rely on photographs to reflect reality.

    Here are 2 1806 pennies, both sold as F1328 Bronzed - compare the colours !

    I agree that it looks like copper. Bronzed specimens tend to look a browny-pink (see below) .

    As Peckris says, acknowledge the source out of politeness. I'm sure that most sites realise that their images can and will be downloaded. And for those that can't, I screenshot the webpage, paste it into a Word document and then save the image as a jpeg file where it can be cropped with something like Adobe Photoshop.

    Spink's Coins of England 2024 has finally included my proposed penny additions of 1847 Medusa, 1858 Large Rose (although they have mysteriously duplicated the entry), 1862 over 1, 1862 VIGTORIA and 1863 open 3.

    I have to disagree with this. It is possible to negotiate (sometimes to zero) the seller's premium with some auction houses, in which case the seller gets the hammer price and the auction house covers its costs through the buyer's premium (commission).

    Because F763 is scarce rather than rare, I've just included one example of both A+b and A1+b rather than every example I've seen.

    I think it's a F763 (1+B) but I've been staring at it for hours.

    That's the second time he's taken it down - probably hoping that no-one will notice.

    I've just tried to report it to Ebay but got switched to a Police Action Fraud site - they're obviously not going to bother with something like this.
