  2. Im fairly sure i know what you mean but ill have a closer look when i get the coin in hand. Still a good buy imho cost £11.40 :-)
  3. I'm starting doing my list one major difference is I'm keeping all my shillings florins etc together. Otherwise I think when I have quite a few it will take ages to spot which ones I'm missing
  4. Just bought this of the bay. Its a 1883 shilling it looks like an inverted V but maybe just a blocked die what do you think Just need to know how to record it,oh and im grading it as fine although im out of my comfort zone in vicky stuff,I can just about manage to get an eddie7 close cheers

  8. Without checking records, I'm pretty sure I've had a number of happy purchases with this eBayer! What's going on now, a 50's penny? You've got to be kidding me? I presume someone is about to tell me they are all ghosted? Bought a few from him myself no probs

  10. Using spink and my dubious grading the absolute max for that is £80
  11. My point that was probably missed earlier was its easier to spot that as being iffy goling by the sellers details on ebay but if that coin comes from an innocent person how can you id it as fake i.e judge the coin
  12. I great looking coin how do you id it as a fake from the pics i don't pies, but 2 clues of origin are the sellers name plus his 1 feedback name. Also the description. Lost in translation comes to mind. There is a fair chance that coin is now owned by a uk person. So when its resale time it may well fetch a huge amount
  13. great looking coin how do you id it as a fake from the pics
  14. As they say " never argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to there level then beat you on experience"
  15. apart from being very very round, its almost perfect some pitting, well quite a bit actually a hint of draw file marks on the edge being very very flat apart from all that it looks genuine :D :D :D

  17. Hi Rob its a metal detector find from yorkshire (ebay) cost £117 weight 2.35g
  18. Hi all this is my first forray into hammered coins and am probably way out on grading this coin. I bought the coin because i quite like the bust and its a bit of a change to the Edward Vii stuff ive been buying lately Im grading it as "fine" am i in the right ball park ?
  19. Lol I know where your coming from. I started on Edward vII florins then got a few of his shillings then a couple of vickys shillings then a couple of Edwards sixpences. Now I've just bought a Charles 1 sixpence
  20. Booo hiss booo! I wish I never said I was after Rob's shillings now You can have them as you let me have my florin :D :D
  21. Oi Mongo dont you go buying any more of my coins (I already have 1C) Those pics really help cheers
  22. Most of the time, but there are exceptions, and if a cross must be assumed to be deliberate which would help the accounting theory. That a very precise cross the lines are dead straight so not a casual act
