There are quite a few varieties on the rupee series, the book that best guides you through the maze is The Uniform Coinage of India - 1835 to 1947 - by Paul Stevens and Randy Weir. I'll have a look at your coin over the weekend, but don't get your hopes up; I'm not that good yet.

Here 'tis: Uploaded at Snapagogo.com This sells the coin a very long way short, the colour should be a beautiful lustrous red, but the lighting knocked that straight out. I don't think I've taken more shots of a single coin in years and I still can't get this one right. But it's a real cracker.

I've had a lively set of messages with a seller tonight pointing out that his medal was not silver as claimed. "Well it looks silver" It's white metal, and was only ever issued in white metal. "Why're you so interested?" Just friendly advice so that you can avoid problems further down the line. Long story short, after a few grumps "Okay I've took silver off the listing just for you,now don't message me again" Listing ended not having met his reserve, but with bids at treble the medals real value. Now relisted without the silver claim and a BIN of £100. Approx 10 times actual value.

This probably accounts for the large number of unpaid item cases I'm having to open lately. Buyers just aren't noticing their wins. (In which case, why bid?)

For low value items my ebay invoice offers Standard International Post as the default option and International Tracked & Signed as the second choice. I've just discovered that ebay in their wisdom have reversed that order. not only on the invoices but on some of my listings too; making me look extremely expensive.

I've just noticed another interesting Paypal wrinkle. Client overpaid postage by £1.00, my fault entirely. Refunded said £1 via paypal made up as 0.97p (ME) & 0.03p (Paypal). So they paid 3% of the refund, which is big of them as they charged me 6% on the entire transaction. It thus seems that any refund is partially funded from sellers net receipts. Screwed again.

One of the reasons for posting that particular piece was the perceived damage. I can't accept that it was ever a proof.
