    I had two proofs arrive today. Nothing expensive, just 1983 & 84 two pence proofs. Problem is, one was in a bank style plastic 2 x 2 with the black back. The other was sent bare. Sellotaped to the 2 x 2. I left neutral feedback with a message not to f**k up coins in the same way in future. Sure the coins I bought cost nothing, but what if the seller got hold of something reasonable?

    I picked this up three weeks ago in a decades old Seaby envelope. I put up a phone picture at the time, but I don't think these two taken with a fairly good Nikon are any better. Opinions please.

    There's certainly copper showing through on the laurel wreath but I think you're right on the casting though.

    Part of a bulk lot, so it doesn't owe me much, but I don't think that it's right. A gram underweight is probably acceptable but there's also the odd raised < shape to the back of the neck on the obv.

    There are so many varieties of the Spade Guinea token that they are obviously collected. Some can be worth a few bob, if you know what you're doing.     That programme, Live from Daryl's house, is easily the best music show on US TV. Like Jools Holland on BBC 2 it is live music, and the house musicians are second to none.

    It is because of the prices that I remembered it. Over one hundred pounds for the metelin which is crazy.

    Two up (against the wall) was certainly played in England before WWI. It was recorded as illegal gambling in police reports from IIRC the 1870s. It may have developed from a Romany game which was played at gypsy fairs.

    English is this seller's second language. From the sentence structure and syntax, it's likely he thinks in arabic/persian.

    That's the action you get when the first bidder has put an automatic bid on with a stated maximum bid. Thd second bidder is repeatedly trying him out to see how high No 1s limit is set.

    Sixty or so years ago, my father had a few of these "riddle" coins in his collection. Similarly engraved and decorated, they were supposedly sent back home to Ireland to show that the emigre sons of Erin were doing well in England. Dad was very fond of these.

    I'll leave discussion of the coin to the experts (although I love it) but I do wish that my pictures would turn out that good.
