  1. I think the UK is currently the second biggest international arms seller, a legacy of conflicts like the Falkland Islands were by a smaller force won basically due to superior weaponry, the Harrier jet, sea wolf, sea skua and sea dart missile systems all untested until this conflict, the success of these systems had all and sundry raising hands saying me, me, I want one of those. We have sold larger weapon systems particularly armoured vehicles and Planes and we have also sold munitions, bombs and missiles, to most of the UAE, Indonesia/Malaya and others in the past and some others currently, but none of the weapons associated with these terrorists, we currently do not make Kalashnikovs In fact most of the weapons and munitions used by the terrorists were those left behind by a fleeing Iraqi army
  2. Didn't realise Terrorists had Jet Fighters?!
  3. To add to the above comments, The Cathedral and Castle coins are Tower Mint products, a Private Mint that strike to order commemoratives for English Heritage and the like as souvenir pieces
  4. Couple of articles on errors http://www.coinnews.net/tools/error-coin-price-guide-with-mint-error-photo-descriptions/ https://www.thespruce.com/cud-error-on-coins-768438
  5. It looks like a piece of the Obv die has broken away, there is no imprint on the Cud which suggests a void in that area, and the blank part on the Rev looks to be a similar size as the Rev die has nothing to press against. Do the two impressions line up
  6. Probably grease spots from the die, you wont be able to remove them, if unhappy, ask to exchange for one without
  7. I heard sometime last year that a mint roll(s) of CHP1841 had been found, the finder sold them with multiple listings on Ebay, price started top end but flooded the market, in the end they were selling in bulk for less than half book price. There are several now in slabs both this side and the other side of the pond, all very high grades, similar happened with CF1825 a few years ago, too many too soon for the market to absorb and keep price buoyant. There are CHP forgeries, dates I have seen are 1825 and 1826 modern looking contemporary copies, 1845, 1848, 1851 and 1860 there is an error with all, an exaggerated long serif to the first 1 of the date, and the identical flat worn reverse used for all.
  8. That would seem logical, it is the only GeoIV Penny reverse not previously recorded as Copper proof Raised line on Saltire, so not A, no straps to Sandal so not C, price is similar to those achieved with the other Copper proof Pennies of GeoIV, not to be confused with the Bronzed Copper Proofs which are a dark red/brown in colour
  9. The bids were coming from the Room in competition with the Internet, I thought it strange for a common 1826 penny to get so much interest at double book price, when it went further I assumed it was a Proof although not catalogued as such
  10. The CP1826 was probably a proof, the Geo IV Copper Proofs are extremely rare, the price is consistent with others that have sold over the last few years
  11. Exactly the reason for posting, serves to help those trying to purchase a genuine coin not to get ripped off. There was one on Ebay using a photo 'borrowed' from previous genuine listing, ask Seller for additional images and be specific as to the image required, any Seller wanting to sell their coin will oblige, get no response or an excuse, leave well alone. Everyone is different, each will find a feature that stands out to them, for myself IRB on the Obv and gap between swimmers breast and waves on the Rev,
  12. Copies of the Aquatic 50 pence currently being offered on Ebay as genuine, usual story, found in moneybox, retrieved from mounting etc.. most worrying in some cases being swapped with the coin in original packaging, several obvious differences when shown next to a genuine example, the images are of a genuine reverse (Left) and a copy sent to me by PWA to show the differences.
  13. Bottom bit says Made in England
  14. I agree his personal achievement are impressive, it is his military career and survivalist that is questionable
  15. Bear Grylls, part time Artist, not all that is portrayed is real, were as Ray Mears shows his knowledge and understanding of his surroundings, never get tired of watching his programs My Cousin out in New Zealand lectures on the Environment, understanding Nature and its ways etc.., spends most of his holidays up a mountain or in a wood somewhere practicing the art using nature and natural resources I think you should put up the link, you could use it as your signature,
  16. Try clearing out the cache and cookies on the PC
  17. Rogers 860 Advertising Toy Coin, Two types young and old Head, usually has advertisement label on back for Mellins Food or similar, mostly seen in Cardboard
  18. If something is reading your email address book, and sending out these emails, definitely a bot. I had a similar problem a few years back and changed all my email addresses by adding an asterix on the front of each, that renders the email address useless, definitely need to run Anti Virus, it should locate and remove the bot
  19. I would try running a anti virus like AVG, I have AVG and it has Computer/Web/Software/email platforms as well as an independent firewall, free to download trial account 30 days. It should pick up any anomalies and block any intrusion
  20. http://www.checkyourchange.co.uk/ The above site Lists all the coins you mention, and has images of each, I wouldn't think it would take long to produce a spreadsheet
