Alternative views are one thing, continuously banging on about LCGS in every thread is boring, hence this thread. We all have views and the way we collect and store our coins personal to each, most have given their opinions, lets leave it there, doesn't need continuously repeating, nothing new to add, move on

From Ebay you sign into your PayPal account as usual, if you pay as Guest you are not using that account and have to enter full card details and CSC, you do not have the protection of your account, this is possibly why they are asking you to do things different, you have paid as though you are not registered

I have never been contacted by PayPal during any resolution period. I would Telephone PayPal, before I started tapping my keyboard

Rodgers and Magnay generalise about the different types, Barter has done in depth surveys and identified sub types of Pennies and Halfpennies His booklets are available at Blurb, the self publishing site

I have looked at Rodgers, Magnay and Barter, none of which seem to indicate what the orientation of any of the Model Penny types should be so I checked all my brass inserts and they are all inverted, however the silver inserts seem to be all over the place with 0 degrees, 180 degrees and almost every position in between

Signed in as usual, takes you to a page to fill out, at the end asks for payment, doesn't say any amount or what it is for, seems the page you have just filled out is an application to join, but to join what?, it doesn't tell you. Unless you have been following this thread or know the recent history it is totally confusing, still. I put my mobile number on the form, that will be an interesting conversation should someone call me tomorrow.

EU referendum - in or out?
Chingford replied to 1949threepence's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
With impending elections for a number of Northern European countries coming within the next 6 months, France and Germany notably, it would send a clear message to any opposition of the EU if they are seen to play hard ball with the UK, to try and stop any support for similar thoughts of exit by other member states. The longer Article 50 is not activated, the closer these Elections get, that I would think is their greatest fear, especially with most of the World Markets, including the UK recovering to pre Brexit levels, with the notable exception of some EU states -

Iceland are better than the pundits think, almost won their group, scoring good goals, not free kicks or penalties, and conceding few, could be another Denmark year, -

EU referendum - in or out?

Our Rebate on EU payments runs out in three years time, and most of the EU grants taken by British based companies have been relocation grants to Countries were Jobs are needed in Europe to quote a only few as the list is extensive Cadbury moved factory to Poland 2011 with EU grant. Ford Transit moved to Turkey 2013 with EU grant. Jaguar Land Rover has recently agreed to build a new plant in Slovakia with EU grant, owned by Tata, the same company who have trashed our steel works and emptied the workers pension funds. Peugeot closed its Ryton (was Rootes Group) plant and moved production to Slovakia with EU grant. British Army's new Ajax fighting vehicles to be built in SPAIN using SWEDISH steel at the request of the EU to support jobs in Spain with EU grant, rather than Wales. Money required by the NHS was quoted as £8 Billion over the next Parliament, that was ring fenced in the last Budget The immigrant staff that used to support the NHS were mostly from Caribbean and Asian countries, now they need a visa. Looking back over the last coalition Parliament, both Cameron and Osborne talked extensively about the EU and the need for reform, and that we would not pay £1.7 billion demanded as a contribution to balance the EU books, we paid it anyway. The Conservative manifesto promised a referendum, and Cameron said he would go the EU with a list of demands and come home with reform, he did just that but fell well short of his promises, but now he endorses the EU although he is in the same position as before the promised referendum, he campaign for Parliament as it being a bad thing, yet now campaigns that it isn't and that we should stay Lots of huffing and puffing on both sides, think it will be a close run result -
Combined with the comments from France and Germany EU members, Osborne saying he will raise taxes 2% if we vote leave are truly signs of desperation, Very poor campaigning by the Remain party in my view, if Economic doom and gloom wont influence the voters then threaten them, why not simply address the issues the voters have and provide them the answers to the questions, every debate I have watched, the answer to every single question ends with the Remain talking about the effect on the Economy, totally avoiding the point and question asked I cant see what positives came from Bob Geldof in a Million pound yacht full of posh totty and chinless wonders taking the P out of Farage and the Fishermen campaigning for their livelihoods.

EU referendum - in or out?
Chingford replied to 1949threepence's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
On the News today, another of those Great British Companies, Microsoft, has highlighted the doom and gloom that 'could' befall us economically if we do leave, echoing the thoughts of those other major UK Brands, namely Audi, BMW, Starbucks,.. I feel their campaign would have more weight if an actual UK business or two were shown to side with the stay Campaign I would still like to see an reasoned argument for staying, I have been bombarded with lots of economical figures and reasons that are not actually fact, and very little else -
EU referendum - in or out?
Chingford replied to 1949threepence's topic in Nothing whatsoever to do with coins area!
Unfortunately not, we can not vote for EU Council members or Presidents We can elect our own UK representatives, but as Nigel Farage said last week, of 72 proposals voted against last year by our own elected members, all 72 proposals were pushed through by the EU, bit of a waste of time having any representation, chocolate teapot et al I saw Neil Kinnock adding his weight behind the Stay campaign, not surprisingly, he was pushed aside after failing to become Prime Minister, joined the EU Parliament and alongside his wife and son, and now all are Multi millionaires, I can't remember voting for any of them. I put a snippet up showing the cons of EU membership, hoped to see a Pro video, if there is one, to balance the discussion -

I found several but none were like your medal reverse, reading through it seems to suggest local traders produced the commemorative medals for volunteers at the pageant, some are much rarer than others but I should think they would have records or maybe even an interest in the medal
