    Even the proof often does have that weak fleur de lys on the right hand side of the crown. Now that's something I wasn't expecting, something else I've learnt about G5 proofs!

    Peck's from Scouseland. You don't get a lot of goldcrests in Liverpool or anywhere else up here. In fact it is only 30 years since I saw a duck for the first time on the River Irwell having waited 6 or 7 years for such an event..I suppose they at least have Beatles in Liverpool, and you didn't do so bad with the Hollies and, of course, The Smiths, amongst many other greats, in old Man'!

    I know this isn't an example of this, but some of the commonwealth coins (not Cromwell) are an absolute bag, and a satisfying buying strategy for a financially struggling coiney!

    100k + easy, think of the world interest in such a famous penny, the kings, princes, Arabs, museums!!!!! That bottom coin of the 3 is really stonkin', I can see why your eyes sparkled AC!

    H7? Well you're going to have to get a side and a front profile coin for this reign, as to choose between the old and new style of coinage would just be too difficult!

    Ahem! Good choice, though, loads to learn, can I recommend BCW's book for the Elizabeth reign, it's unsurpassed! Edit: don't forget Mary, there are quite a good percentage of historically competent ladies sharing in the Tudor period!

    Hah, yes, I replaced the disc drive in my wife's mac about 5 year's ago...the number of screws, and ALL different lengths and counter, etc. etc. Unbelievable, but satisfying!
