    1. Probably cleaned. It's not easy to tell from the photo. 2. It is 5 + B (using Davies terminology). 3. Probably no better than EF, although if cleaned then grade is not particularly relevant.

    There is a setting in PhotoBucket that allows you turn off those URL tags permanently. Go to your PhotoBucket page and hover over the vaguely head shaped icon (top right of page) and select "Settings". Then select "Albums" and remove the tick from "Link back to albums", save and URL tags will be a thing of the past.

    It is as Dave says - don't use IE. Just tried it and I can't paste direct into a post, nor can I paste a link into an image control.

    Here's an example from a PhotoBucket hosted image: Paste via "IMG" link straight into post: If your image is not displaying in the same way toggle the button on the top left of the toolbar so you can see the "code" behind the post and compare with this post.

    I think it's supposed to be reminiscent of the font used on the original Churchill crown.

    At least there will only be 200,000 of these. There were nearly 20 million 1965 Churchill crowns.

    This particular seller's grading is usually way too high. You need to replace the word "virtually" with "nowhere near" and it will seem more accurate. Just have a look at the "choice high grade" 1905 florin that he is selling. He grades it as about EF, whereas it is much more like VF.

    A wild and inaccurate claim (how unusual for an eBay sale), but it may well be the first 'silver' coin without an explicit denomination since the Churchill crown. Not to mention gold sovereigns, half sovereigns etc...

    That picture for lot 2335 looks like a matt proof. The rim looks too square and uniform for it to be a currency strike.

    Is nearly a direct reflection of the light source into the camera. Completely stuffs the contrast of the picture.

    If you look at the bidding, there are two last minute bids which have served to double the selling price. I'm guessing that at least one of those two eBayers might be more circumspect in future.

    No, I didn't buy that lot. Mainly because I didn't spot it, but also because the shipping costs are prohibitive for small value items. Added to which Heritage rarely put the correct HS code on the Customs form, meaning that the carrier charges UK Import VAT at 20% rather than 5% (and it's a hassle to reclaim the difference). I have an 1866 threepence 2+A die pairing (photo attached).

    No trade secrets at all. Just go to the Heritage archive and type "1866 threepence" (without quotes) into the search box and voila. Screenshot attached so that you can see whether your filters match what I have used.
