  1. Nice Penny Pete! ....
  2. Happy Birthday Clive...have a great Day!
  3. My first PC was a Tandy TRS-80. It had two floppy disks...the top one was for the operating system (TRS-DOS), and the bottom disk for data. (1982).
  4. I found a picture of a circulated "HALP" Half Penny, that looks a lot like the pic that was featured at the start of this thread. It does look like your coin is a HALP Half Penny! Congratulations!
  5. Here is the real one for comparison.
  6. There are a bunch of nice pennies, as well as other stuff, for sale on ebay today, by this seller....... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1845-penny-/191589591400?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c9ba12968
  7. But please keep in mind to mention the repair prior selling such item. I would become really angry, upset and aggressive if someone sells me a coin which is virtual worthless... There are many repaired coins arround with filled holes, removed loops or smoothed rim nicks. Please keep in mind that (at least here in Germany) selling expensive (repaired) coins at full price does destroy your reputation. No serious collector would trust neither in you nor the material you offer.... WOW! What a rant! You must have a thorn under your Saddle!
  8. Vicky, I didn't post a picture of the 1849 on the Forum, I only sent it to Chris, as he was the one who sold it to me. I have since bought a new PC, and do not have the picture of the coin now, but it had 3 or 4 really bad gouges in the Obverse of the coin. I had the coin repaired 8 or 9 years ago. One thing I forgot to mention in my earlier post, is the fact that Stockton always lightly polishes the coins he repairs, as you can see from the 1905 shilling pictured elsewhere on the thread. Still, he does a very good repair, of a otherwise unsellable coin.
  9. Chris, The guy is as follows. Alan Stockton 452 Stockton Rd Monticello, KY 42633-6612 USA CRSstockton@aol.com www.crs-stockton.com 606-348-4973 This is the guy that fixed the 1849 Penny you sold me, and fixed it for $85.00...and did a pretty good job. Be prepared: you will get your coin back sometime between 6 months and a year and one half....I am not kidding either. This guy is buried with work. You can send him a pic of the coin and he will send you back a quote for the repair. He lives in the beautiful Cumberland Mountain area of South Eastern Kentucky, that would remind you of the Highlands of Scotland...remote but nice! I hope this helps......
  10. Here is a nice clear 1880, 8 over 8 Victorian Penny. The second pic also shows the over punched "O" in the ONE, which is always present on this coin. Gouby has assigned BP1880Af to this coin. I picked it up on eBay!
  11. While I agree on the case of the open 3, the narrow date 1877 is a distinct reverse isn't it? You are right Mr T, the 1877 ND is a distinct reverse, and very rare in any condition! None are know better than VF, and a choice example, if found would have collectors scrambling to acquire it! There are few Victoria pennies that even approach the rarity of the 1877 ND.
  12. Michael Gouby has a uncirculated 1863, open 3, but it isn't for sale!
  13. Good purchase Nordle, really nice example. I've always had good luck with coins from Declan also.
  14. Zooie...Here is a Half Penny with the 1st "1" way above the date area!......
  15. Nice Penny Prax! Very nice matching color on both the obverse, and reverse.
  16. Beautiful string orchestra, thanks for sharing!
  17. 300-320 pounds depending on eye appeal!
  18. Isn't Aiden the guy Chris kicked off of the Forum a while ago?....
  19. http://www.ebay.com/itm/321710254959?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Here is a real bargain...4 1860 YH Half Pennies in the same auction! I have never seen so many fakes show up at once!
  20. I like that one also Paulus. Another I like is the Edward VII Florin (Especially the Reverse).
  21. Happy Birthday Peter, Many Happy Returns of the Day! Good luck with the Laptop! :-)
  22. Beautiful Half Penny Cathrine...nice purchase!
  23. Your BP is about twice the normal rate, did they increase your BP medicine levels? Also the dizziness may have been dehydration, since it took 4 saline drips to stabilize you. My wife has a tendency to become dehydrated, so she drinks a lot of lo-cal Gator-aid (G2)to keep hydrated. It works!
  24. The coin has definately been cleaned at one time or another, which brings out every circulation contact mark on the rim, and shows on the fields also. The Queens hair is especially strong, however, and adds to beauty of the coin. In time the cleaning will tone, and it will be a much nicer example. Without the cleaning taken into effect, I would put the coin at GVF...maybe better. A little would have to be deducted for the cleaning...or at least note it as being cleaned.
