Yes, retoning would mean it was cleaned at some point and is now starting to retone......I think Paul'bank token is in the same category, merely an assumption Paul, but the toning on yours and Swannys Gothic is quite similar
If they use the global shipping programme then be aware of the huge import charges eBay charge on those items, at a guess this would cost another $350 just for the import alone
If we're talking about the halfcrown Chris, that is from another seller which I added some posts back, that seller is called http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/gb-classic-coins-uk

Numismatic research group is a term used on the forum when you reach a certain amount of posts, as is "nearly part of the furniture" and so on. I noticed that NGC have graded an 1862 in MS65 grade, so they are out there, but it takes time...
Here's one if mine to go alongside yours ?
To highlight my point that the variety is distinct even on worn coins, here is one on eBay from one of the members here on the forum
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1687-6-James-II-silver-Shilling-G-A-in-MAG-NF-but-cleaned-/351673391893?hash=item51e15e1b15:g:R9gAAOSwxp9W4Bvq
My last picture isn't the same coin, i was just highlighting how obvious the G over A is and its not apparent on the koscoins one nor in the Londoncoins sale, so it is fraudulent
It's the ethics of the seller that has to be questioned, not eBay. The coin sold in 2014, so IMO, people buying at this level will know their onions and have probably researched the coin already, hence the reason it's been sat around a while
One of my pet hates are so called "premium eBay seller" who try to rip people off. This one is koscoins claiming that his 1687/6 James II shilling is actually with M over G in MAG. The reverse error is a pretty noticeable error as i've had one of these a few years back, the funny thing is, when he bought it from Londoncoins there was no mention of the REV legend error although they have sold a couple and know of the error.
So just another eBay seller trying to make a few more bucks instead of just selling the coin as he bought it.......The next post is the actual coin that's for sale on eBay and the Londoncoins sale coin......
VF isn't so pricey, it's finding a VF, most are around GF it's when it goes above that.......The linked coin sold for £700 in 2013 graded as GVF
