If you look at Hussalos post there you will see a 90k profit in 3 months on 1 coin bought ans subsequently sold. Its not Asda, Tescos or boots that are ramping up the prices, its individuals with mountains of cash to throw away, and we mere mortals at the end of the day have to pay for it, because as Tom said, if there's something out there that you really want or must have, you'll pay what it takes (within our megre budgets at least) to buy said coin or beanie

Not so sure it is Huss, there's a couple of like rusts spots in the Heritage auction coin (inbetween the U in SOUTH) that can't be seen in the London coin auction, plus the London coin auction was September 2010 and the Heritage was Aug 2010, so in actual fact it would have been a huge loss if anything

Yes there is. Stop discussing the high value that you are prepared to pay for coins. Replica coin production is quite legal in China, so its not going to stop if its profitable to produce them. I suppose that you could get all your coins graded, serial numbered etched on edge and registered. Then when you sell, people could look the actual coin up in the registry and determine if its genuine or not. The other alternative is not stop ramping up the market by paying inflated prices. This is after all a hobby for most of us and not a speculative investment game. I don't see where anyone has discussed high value or what they are prepared to pay, but if you like ARD, you can strat by going around the billion or so people who collect around the world and tell them also, when you've finished sometime in the next Millenia, come back and tell us how you got on, by then of course, prices would have increased etc etc, so thats not going to happen. Prices are determined by the market and dealers who ask for what they want basically. We try and get a coin at a reasonable price, but, if there is that LAST coin that would slip nicely into your specific type collection, what exactly would you pay, 2, 3 times the price if you've been waiting many a year? UH HUH

Gold in EF isn't that common, being such a soft metal, but as it happens your pics are slightly out of focus so it's impossible to give an opinion. You rushed them before leaving for work didn't you. Yes i noticed the date on one of the pix was a little fuzzy, not my normal picture taking efforts, but its a small coin and trying to make everything right with the picture is sometimes a pain in the rear end. Lets just say its very nice and will try and do another

Apparently its already happening 400, copies can be bought from China, when they are bought the buyer can ask for COPY not to be stamped on them, then they try and pass them on back on ebay as original

And the REV, when i bought this the grading was EF+ any thoughts on that,or is the grading ok?

I believe it is a recut V, i wasn't disputing that, i was trying to ask why in the 1st place would they recut the V underneath as it looks better than the overstamp, so i was thinking it might also be an A due to the way the V on top was situated, i thought it was trying to cover an A initially. It just seems a strange way to recut a V that looks out of place. Just my opinion. Anyhow, i'll upload the OBV and REV today before i head out to work

Looking at the coin as a whole, the curvature of the legend, rather than the individual letters, the repunched V looks to me to be closer to the correct line. I would say that it looks to be a corrected misalignment. To be honest Chingford, do you wear glasses, are they broken? The legs of the top V are pointing to VENUS, they look like they're about to take off or have just started to. The bottom stamp of this looks more in alignment than the top, perhaps the legs of the V are a smidge out, but it sure as hell looks better to me than the top punch does

I think everyone is in Agreement that its over something, what we, or i should find out is, if the V under is in correct alignment, then Why overstamp it? Makes more sense then the inverted A theory. There is also early Dated half sovs with inverted As listet in spink i think, would Be interested to compare

I'll take a picture of the OBV tomorrow and Look at how hi the A bar is and then See if its possible that the overstamp could cover this

Well i thought the ae reason 400, There's nö logical reason if in fact the 1st V is alligned. I am Found to send it off, but 1st, more healthy Debate on it and a better Look at it from me, only has 10mins this morning before work

Im throwing cautiom to the Wind Herr and suggest the reason for nö crossbar is because of the erpichtes V which is distinctly out of line and Ortband the reason was to Cover the crossbar. Of we Look at the (we Shall say V for now) underneath, that looks more in position than the 1 in Top, i'm suggesting, to Hide the crossbar

Also, Why overstamp the v in the 1st Place, the 1 underneaths Position Looks perfectly ok? Just questions, i Know how u hatte Variants Rob lol Could it Be that its actually an A? In faxt the more i Look at it, the V in Top Looks more out of Position than the 1 underneath

Its strange them Why spink would list variants around 1851 but Not 1851 itself. There's a varianz for roman 1 and also a over v, so of marsh has nö Time them Why List These? Excuse the spelling, am in the sbahn using a New phone
