  1. I think if someone phoned CC we could maybe negotiate a better price for the 1835, say 300 GBP?
  2. So we have 5 so far Me, Peter, 1949, Paulus and Coinery...........1 more and we'll be there and the 1835 shilling is still avaliable
  3. I'm still in, 6 people would be about right i'd say, 100 quid each, we'd have to pick the right coin though, agree with the silver, so need to keep the eyes open for something that could grade in the MS bracket 64-67 in our humble opinions. Maybe some of the dealers has something we could play with? What's wrong with the Cooke coin? Could be interesting to see how that grades and sells with Heritage? Regardless, I'm in for a share of the fun, if someone wants to take the reigns! I have to confess though that understanding how a grading company arrives at a particular number is tiring to me, and of little interest to the coins I'm playing with, but I'm sure I'd learn a 100 quid's worth from it ;-) The cooke one is perhaps to bright and shiny for the American TPGs, it might need some colour to push it along. Anyone got some spare petrol?

  5. Sorry, tell a lie. It is MS67 after all ~ was looking at the wrong bit. The right one is here Extraordinary. And it's sitting at $625 thats 385 GBP crazy coin world I'd have said £300 absolute tops, and even that would be generous given its appearance!!! Clearly a business opportunity. Buy any unattractive big numbered slab at fair value and consign via Heritage. Could work wonders for the UK's balance of payments. On the question of the grade though, I still wonder how they get to MS67 with the obvious rim mark. The coin isn't heavy enough to have suffered the defect falling into the hopper. It has to be post Mint damage. I think the business opportunity comes from buying a raw coin, getting it slabbed by PCGS etc then shipping it over to heritage for a 4 fold increase in price. Everyone's a winner, i get 4x what i paid and an American gets a slabbed coin In the Spink 2013, back page, it gives you advice how to join PCGS Europe and have your coins graded/slabbed in Paris where their new office is. I may just do that and get some coins slabbed and shipped out to Heritage www.pcgseurope.com you have to join the collectors club to be able to submit the coins yourself any time of the year, you also get the first 8 coins slabbed free if you join the diamond club, 4 coins for the lowest entry level
  6. 1835 Sixpence in Spink 2013 as follows F 15 VF 30 EF 160 UNC 400

  8. Thats what i thought as well Peter
  9. So Mr Silver, comparing the NGC graded MS63 sold at Londons for £150 in 2011 to this one with its HUGE estimate 1 year later, seems to me that its a little OTT no?
  10. They also take into account "eye appeal", which makes Nick's sixpence an epic fail for MS67 Lmfao..........Eye appeal to earn a point or 4 woohoooooooo, no wonder the americans use petrol to enhance their coins then It's actually no more than a not very good looking NEF. That's the reality. If it's really been graded MS67, then something is not quite right IMO. Its basically a money making racket, when you have a monopoly and the sheep follow your every say so then the sheep will buy at the grade you tell them it is and believe your every word. In reality i'd rather have a raw coin and know in my own head what a coin is graded at. I think some of those TPGs are taking the piss in the US of A and i hope Mr Vicky Silver won't take offence or have a hissy fit, but that's not MS67 in anyones eyes, although his observation on this grade would definately be worth reading
  11. My guess was MS62 and given that Heritage have an auction estimate of $1250-$1750, it is well off my radar too. Londoncoins sold an 1835 sixpence in UNC in September for 240 quid plus commission, just goes to show how much American auction houses are ripping for a little tone and i'd say Londons was a better grade, an NGC MS63 sold for 150 quid in 2011, so where does their price come from? http://www.londoncoi...age=Pastresults

  13. I Note from 1949s post just above of the criteria for MS grading that they actually take into consideration COLOR? WHY? Wtf has colour got to do with strike/wear which is what grading is about......
  14. You might want to Pass in the link to coincommunity forum Peter of the 1864 florin, especially to andyg and Point out that its also from China and not some other foreign field. I know how he hates to be wrong, but this time we're right. I'd do it myself but the prix banned me for f all Barred! Well, Dave, you DO surprise me! You should be proud! Stuart i got banned for basically standing up against fakes and one tit saying that roydinsdales admission of guilt was no admission of guilt by andyg, i cannot take seriously a tool who thinks that an admission by the perp is in fact not a guilty plea, the guy is a tool. Then i was told i was alienating an entire nation by calling them CHINESE fakes.........OMFG!!!!!!! sorry eh..........Completre numpties over there.

  16. He's maybe gearing up to sell the forgeries (which he probably still has) under the other username. You should have sent him the alibaba link to the 1864 florin and said that we found now where he was buying them In the councinmubity forum someone commented that he'd been selling fake spanish 8 reales, this other seller he's touting is selling on here 251200540790 add link please Is that on alibaba i wonder
  17. Bang to rights the Mr Dinsdale...... Mofo.... So he was buying at $59.99 which is around £38 and they were selling on eBay at around the £100, in total he sold 12 from August to october thats around £744 profit less the eBay fees on those 12 Coins alone
  18. Just need to find the gothic crowns on there and we'll have tied up dinsdale to a fecking pole the arsehole Is that florin die 64? Can't see from the aye phone
  19. It is quite a difficult site to navigate but I found 1822 crowns and Northumberland shillings. The amount he's has this year you could only assume they were from this Site as they seem to deal in bulk orders. Hopefully he's been hammered for a few quid. Is there pictures avaliable for download? Those would be handy references
  20. PCGS etc use a 1-70 scale CGS 1-100 scale. Ask Peter the same queation as he also quoted the MS61 grade as GEF:AU. Blanket out on this one now. Happy xmas
  21. This is gotta be where roydinsdaleuk was buying from
