  1. Surrey coins and Country Cottage interiors are a definate, Country Cottage is his wife and surrey was his main shiller when his id was *classic*british*coins* just need to keep one eye on barrybest now as he's now in the mix for bidding previously on the 1827 and winning This is another that sold a few days back that he's relisted 360733235133 Here is the original http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360724223826?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D360724223826%26_rdc%3D1
  2. Just to put this one to bed and to positively ID the fact this was a shill bid, there was a FB left for Platt in August from barrybestcoins, so we can safely say that this is another ebayer involved with MP top class buyer A+++ highly recommended 10/10 thanks for BACS payment Seller: Member ID barrybestcoins ( Feedback score of 2739) 23-Aug-13 18:37 Platt has changed his id from *classic*british*coins* to now bitish-coins-uk where you can see the FB left Just to add, another of his shill bidders is currently winning the 1827 Penny...............sonofcork with a 401 FB (yes Martin, i can see you private listing)
  3. Some nice coins there Declan. Your wallet must have took a good hit, but worth it when you Walk away with quality
  4. Perhaps the weighs/value of silver was something to do with it? Anyone else?
  5. I wonder if Londons told the room though, if not, why not.
  6. I asked buckscoins about it, he wrote Fakes don't sell for £3,800 I know 4 full time professional dealers who had bids over £3,000 and the auctioneer also spoke to me and explained how the mistake happened. Now pardon me, but fakes do sell for 4 figures (Gothic Crowns), but what i'd like to know is, at what Point was the mistake reversed, was the auction house informed of this and was this perhaps a ploy to buy a cheap coin at the time of printing the catalogue? Does Sound a bit dubious
  7. This has to be up there with the ugliset coin ever, so uninspiring
  8. If i remember correctly, the Rose on the REV had a broken Leaf also. Wonder if we'll see more of these on ebay RD
  9. Just what i was going to say Scott
  10. Um, it doesn't say anything about WW2!! It's been changed Peck, it did mention WWII
  11. I can sell you one for 30 quid outwith ebay as they are rare as hell
  12. I see Platt is at his shill bidding best.....Sold on the 29th for 745 Quid http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360724179440?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D360724179440%26_rdc%3D1 Relisted here, and you'll see why he's shilled it from the snippet of his text pasted below http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360733248145?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D360733248145%26_rdc%3D1 I'm sure we'll all agree about his grade of NEF, he's obviously trying for the 4 figure bids judging by his text An opportunity to acquire a superb example of the extremely rare 1827 GEORGE IV COPPER PENNY in near EF condition. The 1827 penny is a virtually impossible date to locate in anything better than VF condition with Spink’s 2013 catalogue suggesting a price of £875 in VF and £3,500 in EF. So we can take it as read that the first winning bidder is likely to be a shiller for him
  13. The silvers were from an auction house and not ebay but what i can't understand is how they're missed packing such a significant quantity of coins. And yes the money was in my PP account earlier when i checked. Its a really weird one that, still dunno whats going on with it, but just beware of this buyer kellyt1992 or anyone who asks you to ship same day, i normally post next Day after payment, but did'nt even think they would'nt be genuine. Police were informed and has spoken to my buddy last night, but i think the Hacker and the buyer are one and the same. Also been onto the auction House about the silvers and they seem to think its been a misprint of the number 63 and should have read 6, but who in their right mind is going to buy 16 silver proofs for £350 hammer :-/
  14. How have you communicated with eBay? I've always found that by phone is the easiest way to get my point across. Assertively, of course... It was by phone Clive, strange things have been Happening though, cash is back in the PP account, account holders name has changed yet i can still see this Kelly T on the PP item details. But Hold the fort, i thought things were all rosey, but nope. Bought a lot in auction 2 weeks ago, in total 73 proof coins, 63 of them were piedfort 50ps, a Rather small packet arrives today (bear in mind these were all in the original cases) and 57 of them were not there how the hell is that possible?
  15. I'm just wondering what eBay is going to do about it as they (as usual to Stellers) were not very helpful
  16. Think i've been ripped by an ebayer claiming her account was hacked. She bought a Gold half Sov from me, paid straight away and asked if i could Post straight away which i Duly did. Then ebay email next Day with the notice telling me not to ship (which i already had) PP then take the money back out of my account and ebay Tell me to get a Crime number, they were as much use as an Ashtray on a Motorbike, what gets on my nipple ends is that there seems to be NO Protection for sellers at all on ebay. I emailed the ebayer in question, she claims her account was hacked and that she does'nt own a PP account and pays everything with debit Card, but in Order to pay with debit card you need a PP account. Her name has since changed in the last 3-4 days since her purchase to kellyt1992 that name corresponds with the purchasers name and the Name in PP, yet ebay cannot See all this information and just take her side. Its a joke.
  17. From the same seller who has a listing stating: "also do not levee bad feedback until you have contacted me fist" That's hilarious, probably a BNTA member I should imagine There are only two rules about Fight Club... But we're not allowed to say because we can't talk about it
  18. He probably means "sea to left of lighthouse" lol
  19. I see sneakbay are now going to charge 10% on your postage fee, not normally charged. So either free shipping will be incorporated into a BIN or 10% will be added onto postage. Ebay, greedy Bar stewards, the Charge 3.5% on the total amount through paypal, so effectively screwing you twice
  20. Lets not forget, it would take more than one ijut to actually Push it that far, so there was obviously 2 of them, possibly more. We should all be saving that picture as a reference because it'll be back someday and will be selling as genuine.
  21. Woof woof lol
  22. Gold will most often get bullion price to, but there seems to be a lot of it on ebay right now, silver bullion that is
  23. It's true the £107 bid was made 4 minutes after bidding opened, but you need other bidders to push the current winning bid up and it took nearly 2 days to pass the £100 mark. Of course, but this is my def of protection/shilling! List a coin, protect it immediately with a bid you won't accept less than (the newly listed brigade are surely smart enough not to place their top bid within 4 mins of listing, with 7/10 days to run, hoping they'll get a bargain?), and then go to bed for the week, forgetting all about it!That's how I see it! ??? Totally agree about the protection bid. You just need to watch if the same Person does it a few times then you'll know for sure
