  1. I'd agree with most commemts here. CGS for British coin grading and PCGS fort he rest. I'd also agree with Alan (mhcoins) regarding the scale that they used and that they may have missed the international boat on this. Saying that, they may only want to stick to mainly British coin grading. You never know, we may see them change this grading scale sometime in the future.
  2. To far for me. Anyone attending the Munich coin fair?
  3. I'm an Hour ahead of you guys
  4. Oh you're buggered Colin, anyway, its all downhill after 21
  5. To Tomgoodheart and ColinG. I hope you boys get really nice coins or coin books, or Vouchers for coin books (null)
  6. I bid too, but also dropped out as it was only EF Maybe a certain ebayer with £12000 burning a hole in his pocket hoping to sell as UNC? Time will tell.
  7. I bidded on the LCW under foot penny but dropped out after $1500, it went for $2100 hammer
  8. They seem to like this site, and I thought we were just geeks
  9. Seems to be back to normality
  10. Douna, the reason it probably did'nt sell was perhaps it was too expensive, just a thought
  11. glitchy as in no graphics
  12. can get on using IP Board but its glitchy, although no more Russians.
  13. itf it is the same coin it just goes to show what the Americans are doing. buying high grade british, slabbing amd hoping some mug will part with huge amounts to buy it, thus making massive profits to do the same again. funny thing is though, its mainly Americans that are buying into it all. douna, we're not bashing you, its just thatw e see this and discuss this maybe once a month. american buyers have bought into a huge marketing scheme and those biyers are buying into a slab number and not whats in the slab. Do your homework before buying, sellers like the one you've pointed put are ripping you guys off because you're believing the hype, it really is all BS as Rob says. check out previous auctions for a similar coin amd see if it sold for $2000+ my gues is you won't find any unless you look at heritage which is another outrageous marketing ploy.
  14. sorry, i don't but it looks expensive however you look at it. british collectors don't go much for what a label says or the razzmatazz of which pop number it might be. its a nice coin but very expensive
  15. I went to your main webpage and it also seems different, the subcontent is all opened. Clicking on the forum link from your website just brings up the same problem. I did try Huss' forum from the IPB board app and i got to that without any problem
  16. When the option to zoom came up I was like a kid in a sweetshop. Nearly poked my eyes oot
  17. Chris i tried another forum from the IPB board and it never had the problem
  18. Logging into the forum from my ipad and got some weird russian shit. I use the IPB app for forums and when i logged into it, it started downloading something in Russian. So i tried with safari and same thing again. I'm logged in now from the laptop using firefox without any problems. The Russian URL seems to be www.moblua.com. Anyone else with apple products having this problem? Another URL that seems to be popping up is goltraff.com.
  19. They have no choice but to accept paypal as a method of payment. If reported ebay would pull all their listings
  20. Living in Germany, i've only seen 3 cheques and those were for refunds from the Krankenkasse for being a healthy specimen of a human being. I don't think the Banks use cheque books here, i was never issued one when i opened my account. We also don't get charged £30 a time to send money to EU accounts, strange that eh
  21. Whatever it is, he wants a whole Lotta Geld for a half Sovereign
  22. His name is Allen Stockton, and he lives in Monticello, KY...near the Eastern Mountains of KY. He advertises in the ANA Magazine. He does very good work, but you would not want to send a coin to him in better than VF condition, as the repair and resurfacing does take its toll. Another thing, it takes 6 months to a year to get your coin back. The cost is reasonable however. Yes, he fixed my holed 1905 shilling, it did take a while though.I remember the coin, it did look good but you'll always know in the back of your mind that it was holed. I wonder if CGS would Spot it through grading
  23. So it looks like someone is buying up coins which have slight flaws, tidying them up and then submittier to the TPGs and hoping to make a killing, seems on this Occasion the theory did'nt work. Might be one to look out for. I remember you mentioned a Geo III Gold penny? You have which you sold that also had a few scratches and was "cleaned up"
