  1. yes they are legal tender but they wern't minted for circulation and therfore you can judge rarity. if you want to include £5 coins, this one is worth the most whether there were less of these minted then any other coin though..
  2. havn't the foggiest, perhaps they used the wrong letter by mistake, but you can see there is a join at the bottom
  3. there is that 2nd type of 2006 10p, though. but yea dont worry about those.. yet lol would the 1992 small head 20 be a mule of sorts? using 1991 dyes instead of the updated?
  4. yea B over R.. not 100% due to the fact it looks normal without an visual aids, but that is quite clear. i want thoughts on that, is it a new type
  5. but those do count, there were 3,910,000 royal arms £1 in 2008 (thats the old type) no £5 were made for circulation. and the commonwealth games variertys were all issed for circulation so those stand
  6. i have a dot to dot 1992 10p and 2 of the small head 1992 20p 80's-90's 20ps are hard to get nowadays got this one a few months back, have to say i'm pleased lol
  7. isn\'t this sort of thing common with farthings, its quite nice having an obvious misalignment though. and off the subject of 1847 i have 1843 FID . rather then FID : its posted here, but i may have a very interesting repunch indeed for my latest arrival, my large date 1858. was acctually investigating the R in BRITTANIAR myself (the top of the R is acctually open there is no serif or bar up there) and spotted the repunch of a possible B over R in REG? so perhaps this was common quick fix?
  8. nope, 2008 pounds are rarer in mintage. rarest is the NI commonwealth games £2 485,500 mintage
  9. been a long while since anyone has found anything got the 10p and 20p
  10. yea from that discription i get henry VIII groat too.
  11. i am interested in seeing this
  12. i have an interesting copper one posted around the site which is, from what i have seen completly unlisted, but yea i like the site
  13. far less about, speaking of fake stuff
  14. that sounds interesting, do you have pictures
  15. i have this interesting one, its no WW (doesnt appear to be any overstriking) but has a lower colon on reverse, and oddly for a coin of this grade, some lustre O.O
  16. yea buns are fun, dont worry about quality for some, some very rarely appear, check dates like 1875 76 and 79 (sometimes people dont list things correctly and you can find a bargain) or any coin with an obvious rare type of course.
  17. yea i have a 1913 that looks to be the same colour as my 1912H's, i have a 1918 RM in EF with a die crack or 2
  18. yea i'll get the pic, came in a bulk buy, you can see 3 lumps in the 5 o clock, thats the signiture
  19. i have the ones in my penny thread, now if we are talking about something that makes no differance, this is a good example are there really many bun head pennys distinguishable in poor?, i have 2 veriaties of 1860 in poor only way i know they are differant is one has signiture under portrait
  20. i wouldn't know a slender 3 if i had one.. i'm not measuring things.. its a dumb price for a coin. how come a slightly differant 3 is worth so much, yet there are date spreads all over the place in 60-61 and 62 which no one cares about
  21. course they would care, 1975, 79 have obvious wide and narrow dates and are really mot minor differances, hence the listings. it gets dumb when you count boarder teeth and slight dye errors.
  22. there are a fair few 1839 2 prongs on ebay, might pick one up cheaply.
  23. true, but a noticable variety thats listed (1879 narrow date) is surely collectable, afterall if you saw one you would know straight away its differant, but TBH there is so little about some of these easy to spot ones i guess they aren't key. as for this survay thing, i'll post about ideas on how to make at least a rough estimate on how it works
  24. yea can get decent common piences in decent grade, i got a VF 1919 for a quid, EF 1918 with some lustre for £5, while not rare, they are very desirable and there is a list of these key dates on the site, http://www.predecimal.com/key_dates.htm how many of these are "rare" 1912H penny? where is the 1979 narrow date and 1858 small date farthing. i do think some coins are overrated 1988 pound anyone...
  25. 1912 H has a few thousand more mintage then 1922, at 16.8million, so yes over rated but they do colour nice with wear the 1925 halfcrown has a 1,413,461 which is acctually more then 1930.
