hopefuly soon I'll sort out my 1831 penny Variaty and in the meantime I took a punt on this 1861 turns out it was a good Punt, Obverse 4 was the day after i found another with no signiture under bust in very low grade (obv 5?)
o come on, thats just showing off now, missing so few of the 1860 pennies you even have the F15 I need to see an F14 to find one my Numbers never come up, getting 1 on the lottery is rarer then the F14
the I of IND was one a looked at myself, it looks to be TO tooth, and i look again and still convinced it does, the I of BRITT is also to tooth, plus if you compare a normal 1911 with this one, the lettering is further away from the teeth also.
it would. now back to the early milled. other rarities? been a fair few tin coinage on recently http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1861-RARE-Penny-Interesting-variety-of-Gouby-F-Freeman-25-4-G-R12-/190848577894?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEDWX%3AIT&nma=true&si=pB5oDIE9zR9VtmKyOCsl628Yklw%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc was this, which i'm not quite sure on that sold recently. Gouby F F25 penny Variety I got myself a BMC 686 halfpenny this is still for sale, davis 840 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1896-Victoria-Old-Head-Silver-Florin-Davies-840-dies-1A-EXCESSIVELY-RARE-/190852012910?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item2c6faa9b6e and this
yea it was I who won the Gouby X and yes it is one, I checked all the allignments. there have been quite a few rarities on Ebay recently though, and still is.
yea, thats the thing, I have 1861 halfpennies 1 over lower 1, and the lower in is exactly that, no serif. you can barely see it with the eye so they wouldn't have been that far off.
clearest picture of the 2 enlarged i could get. ran this by some americans (they have loads of random pointless overstrikes on everything so if anyone can see one they can) and said it was. now such a variaty i havn't found listed or sold, hard to spot with the naked eye due to size of the coin, however the date is a fit for other overdates in other series so why not.
1906 and 1918 are the 2 worst years for this. I did see a nice well struck 1920 on ebay the other day. but i do not see where you draw a line, because its the same for the early milled, you can get clear writing, great details and, Britannia is missing a head
