  1. mine only cost under a quid
  2. yea, cannons are quite good for this sort of thing. i use macro and daylight only for mine, i wouldn't say they are the best but.
  3. or just, put it down and take a photo so we can see
  4. would add no value, but the fact it looks like it is 1776/5 might.
  5. might have been issued at the time, looked like a nice design as well.
  6. Brass threepences are the least probably, Halfpeenies also. however with Halfpennies there are so many in the 17th 18th century you usualy do end up needing them.
  7. only if they are messing with your sheep
  8. yea its got clear details, when you get to that point it costs a bit more so I do think £13 is a nice.
  9. Never seen silver go that colour before.
  10. something going on on the 2 of mine as well.
  11. nope, I bid on a fragment of one once, that went for like £30. I did see that, but that is beyond silly.
  12. this one is mine I cant say for sure if that is F over R though, but there are recuts on the obverse of mine. so yes there are other dies, my letter spacing is completly differant
  13. not as stupid as BU gold plated 1967 pennies
  14. last one is a jeton, cant find anything on it though
  15. actually the pictures are bugged, the coin isn't that bad, stuck a bid on to have a look, and in the you are winning is the screenshot.
  16. Never seen anything like this before. 2 or 3 oddities at least on the reverse alone. the C is joined but that is a die issue, others look clearly like wrong letters overstruck with correct ones. HIB for example. has 2, dunno what the H is obver but the B is over an R or an X.
  17. so whats these variates on the fishtail, can't really see much differance
  18. whats that ranking? and whats these "fishtails" that are refered to the ribbon on her hair? because i can't work out those either. and that site is a very handy visit for a tab when browsing Ebay.
  19. thats the lowest grade one of those i have ever seen.
  20. I stumbled across a picture of an OBV2 the other day, and noticed the B in BRITT was alligned to the boarder teeth differantly to OBV1.
  21. only problem is, i have never yet seen much differance in the Obverses for low grade.
  22. an example if there ever was one, of the key to good photo, had a brief look a the seller. 1861 6 over 8? seems a bad photo is a killer, or people are scared of having a punt, because there are a couple of features there that point to said variety (slanted 8, position of curve on 6), is a bad photo that much of a killer? or was it the listing itself? i looked through 1861 pennies just yesterday and didn't see this, is it the verd? the interest was there but not to the extent, surely with a good clear photo thats making £50-100
  23. probably portugese by the shield design. dont see many myself to pin it to date though.
  24. don't think I have seen any GVLIEIMVS coins myself to have a look at to see that myself, anything like the above, I usualy have a very close look and decide. maybe i'm seeing things here but if you look closely, can I see a very faint outline of a central part of an F? can also see part of the F at the top (triangle), what i can tell you from observation is those triangle parts are often detatched, there are plenty of L's where this happens.
