  3. It's the uninformed selling to the ignorant.... see this ebay listing..... Item number: 300061214231 http://cgi.ebay.com/VICTORIA-ONE-PENNY-MOD...1QQcmdZViewItem
  4. Does anyone have a list of the different varities and variations of the Birmingham Workhouse Tokens??? Thanks
  5. I just picked up a specimen myself as a adjunct to my Copper & Bronze Collection..... I have the 3p and the 1p both dateed 1813, and am waiting for a 1p dated 1814...... Offhand, do you have a list of the denominations and dates that each were made???? Thanks
  6. My area is primarily Bronze and copper.... I have many of the rarer varieties, granted not all in high grade, but if you need images for display, just let me know what you need......
  7. Bottom line is... a price guide is only that.. a "GUIDE"..... Demand and the individual coin, will determine its final selling price.......
  8. Looks like a split planchet, that is starting to separate......
  9. I personally prefer a brockage with a date, or a unique obverse (such as 1 or 1* on the Bronze series).. Here is my 1878 Penny Brockage.. Here is an example of a scarcer type brockage.... It's a 1961 penny with the OBVERSE struck through a stuck fragment of the trident area from the reverse of another penny... The brockage area (the area of the struck through fragment is incuse).....
  10. It's apparently not THAT rare, although admittedly still scarce...... I've owned about 8-10 over the years, between upgrading etc.... and have found 4 or 5 of them...... All in varying condition, from a well worn good to a nice EF+ (US grading standard)..... Much like the F-14, Scarce but not rare....I've also owned about 8-10 of those, and have found all but 3.......
  11. Here are the various H placements on the 1881-H F-108... Also a pic of the VERY RARE F-103
  12. Aside from the obvious differences of Freeman numbers, there are also at least these 4 different variations of position of the H beneath the date..... H Touching 1st 8 H Touching 2nd 8 H Central & HIGH H Central & LOW I have examples of all 4, but haven't had the opportunity to take pictures of them yet.... The description is obvious enough, but if you need images, I'll try to get around to it later on.......
  13. Hopefully we'll all soon get to see these coins. Didn't the Colin Adams sale also have a 1933 Lavrillier pattern penny, which was featured on the cover of the catalogue? Yes.... Could be the same one... I don't know for sure.....
  14. I never saw the collection, but am aware of the quality of the coins that he sought........ PS: The quality of the Colin Adams collection was excellent ( I have his F-21), and this is excellent too.... I'm not sure how extensive it is, although I know it covers quite a bit.....
  15. It's a SUPERB COLLECTION, with some GREAT RARITIES..... Including a 1933
  16. Here's another GEM..... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...mMakeTrack=trueLink
  17. Safer than actually living in the 12th century and collecting contemporary coinage......... LOL!!
  18. She should for crying out loud, think about it, her image is on more coins than any other person in history. True, but it hasn't ALWAYS been a FLATTERING portrait
  19. Not to mention his dog.... But let's not get into a political discussion..... It can get very messy... LOL!!!! Talk about mangling the English language!!!!!!!!
  20. Not really, even though I have more respect for her than our current president.......
  21. A small fish in a big pond, but I had to take note of my 100th post..... so long as I don't strain my arm, patting myself on the back.... LOL!!!!
