  1. I'm on my cell phone.. small screen, however I concur...I see nothing to indicate a beaded border on either side... The reverse is toothed and the obverse appears to be the same... I can't determine the Freeman number from the images though... If I was forced to hazard a guess though, I would lean towards an F-13.... Poor quality coin and small screen conspire against me... I've just taken a closer look on a larger screen and indeed the obverse does appear to be a round bead border making the coin an F-8 although I can not be 100% sure from the images....... A VERY POOR and undersireable specimen though.... if indeed it is that variety after all....

  3. Fascinating provenance.... E. Bramah (He wrote an early work on copper) C. W. Peck (He wrote the last definitive work on copper along with the first major study of bronze) A nice coin to have for that alone.
  4. The paypal portion of the refund is actually a refund of the fee that you paid to paypal for the excess portion of the funds paid to you... Paypal is not actually paying any portion of the refund.. It is just your money being refunded to you..
  5. Shouldn't that be "talk properly"?
  6. I don't post every day... I do check in several times a day.... I do post when I have something to contribute or something to say...
  7. Freeman obverse 4..... he doesn't differentiate between the fishtail cut or the central cut ribbon.... GOUBY obverse G... LCWYON below bust with central cut ribbon.... Again, there are subvarieties which I can't determine on the small screen... But Satin-18 or Gouby-S is probable...
  8. I'm looking at my cell phone... small screen.... but BOTH coins appear to be obverse 4's with a Central Cut Ribbon.... can't tell sub-varieties though from this screen....
  9. I'm on my cell phone.. small screen.... but it looks like an obverse 6, reverse G... F-33 Maybe someone with a big screen can confirm?
  10. BTW.... Remember the PCGS farthing mule debacle of several years ago??! Rather than admit an error, they essentially created a new variety...
  11. How about this one...Narrow Date 1877... http://www.ebay.com/itm/351126699331?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I sent them a message, along with pictures of what a Narrow Date looks like, and the President of the Company wrote me back saying he was taking the information to NGC. That was two weeks ago, and he still has it for sale. BTW...every other dealer here in the states has one or two 1860's marked as mules...and they are not a mule! They don't let the truth get in the way of a good sale! I emailed at least 2 years ago about that same slab.... It's been in their monthly auctions all that time till it finally got moved to ebay.... I have one slabbed just like it as well as a misattributed "with colon" variety (I forget if it's an 1841 or an 1843)....
  12. Once a day whether I need it or not If only.....
  13. A battle for the last post.... I'll make it simple and take the honors.... Thanks to all for your kind thoughts....
  14. Happy to help when I can... Just don't like being absolute without coin in hand or on small image....
  15. Can't see too clearly as I'm on my cell phone.. However, indications from what I can see, are that it is a Freeman obverse 4 , with LCWYON under Victoria's bust...
  16. Happy B-Day Gary...what are you now...39? LOL! Then I would be Jack Benny... No, I'm now 62 Jack Benny...that brings back memories! LOL. You are now "early" retirement age...wow! "Thanks for the Memories" (song title).... That's Bob Hope......
  17. Happy B-Day Gary...what are you now...39? LOL! Then I would be Jack Benny... No, I'm now 62
  18. thank you all for your kind thoughts. It is much appreciated and very thoughtful of you.
  19. Good information Gary, thanks for posting!... A privilege to help out...... Passing it forward....
  20. Here is an example of a SEVERELY ABUSED half penny that I had found, that was my first specimen of the Die Letter A to the Right of the Lighthouse... Being on a fixed income I was grateful that I had found this specimen, it's poor condition not withstanding. The lines of the A, in my opinion, I believe are too clear despite the abuse to be anything else.... I would have to be convinced otherwise.
  21. I know of 3 letter positions for the Die Letter A (Reverse G): Two to the LEFT of the Lighthouse (one CLOSER to the RIM, the other CLOSER to the LIGHTHOUSE) and one to the RIGHT of the LIGHTHOUSE (UNLISTED in Freeman). Only 1 letter position for the Die Letter B (Reverse E): To the LEFT of the Lighthouse... And 2 letter positions for the Die Letter C (Reverse F): Both to the LEFT of the Lighthouse (one CLOSER to the RIM, the other CLOSER to the LIGHTHOUSE)
