  1. When google was in the infinite stage I googled 1698 farthing everyday..both got a home back in blighty. I paid $10 Canadian for my exurge and a bit more (so called XF legend)...but I kept them and filled my collection.....well 1718,1693 a decent both G's over...just got a small trident ....can't be saying.
  2. It would surely be pertinent to fully describe the coin to the best of your knowledge. Maybe the ham fisted cowboy's may then look further than Krause.
  3. Looks cleaned.
  4. Get your 1967 1d's slabbed. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1967-Penny-1D-S-4157-Great-Britain-PCGS-MS65RD-GEM-UNC-top-of-the-population/264271580689?hash=item3d87d04e11:g:euUAAOSwaRBcX3AP
  5. Ouch....a weeee bit expensive. This seller doesn't live up to his user name AND look at the discount!! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1787-GREAT-BRITAIN-UK-King-GEORGE-III-Antique-SILVER-Shilling-Coin-NGC-i74854/323663403595?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D57599%26meid%3Daa60d0fe88774364831353e8d4564be5%26pid%3D100008%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D201082532088%26itm%3D323663403595&_trksid=p2047675.c100008.m2219
  6. I love a book and purchased at a whim "Grosser Deutscher Munzkatalog" 1800 onwards. I have a few coins picked up over the years which I enjoy and wanted to expand on Krause's offerings. I look forward to pictures and further discussion.
  7. Spending £465 to get coins with a raw value of less than $300 slabbed doesn't register. Shinymetaldiscstacking.com Why am I thinking of Muttley getting a medal from Dick Dastardly ?
  8. Buying the slab and not the coin seems to be the US way although fervently denied. Atlas are purely tapping this and why not? Large nrs of individual collectors try the regrade path to riches and really is it not similar to variety collectors cherry picking ebay/coin fairs. I ask the question; Who hasn't bought a duplicate coin to flip for a profit?
  9. I've just subscribed for 6 months (£20) and get paper and digital. I must say apart from Richard Sessions article the rest is 20 minutes wasted.
  10. Sums it up nicely...worth watching.
  11. My late father collected stamps and I have a few albums. They are well down my interest list. My grandfather amassed cigarette cards and was a keen photographer when serving in the RAF both collections interest me.
  12. I don't think English is his 1st language.
  13. With the CC copper/bronze collections they are a go to. The Nicholson collection of 1/2d's is especially detailed. Peck did say there are many minor variants with early cu. I weigh each of mine thus usually end up keeping the lot. You can't be OCD collecting cu. Well done on your 527 discovery.
  14. Doesn't appear the same as RR in the Colin Cooke collection. More like the normal issue.
  15. These twonks aren't numistmatists !!!!!
  16. 14 bidders thought otherwise.
  17. Welcome back Colin. I had 10 years consulting with Mowlem before they "merged" with Carillion. I hope you are going to active with farthings again. All the best in your new venture...Peter
  18. John (Argentum) is a member on this site....ex Old Bill and likes Cuban cigars,Malt and fishing.....give him a message.
  19. We are talking Crunchie or a Jocks hair.
  20. I got mine (Glen Moray) from the Local Store (local people only) and is giving me a shy wink.
  21. How the heck did IRN BRU and Malt come out of "norf of the border"....same colour I suppose.
  22. Dundee Scots...send them to Germany.
  23. Lovely verb Rob. I really need to make more use of it in my working life.
  24. I hope you can concentrate on predecimal. Stewie and Richard (Coinery & Tomgoodheart) for hammered and SUEK for milled.. Plus a lot of us can help fill gaps.
