  1. I got this from him in Feb, was delighted! I love the toning. So often BU's are spoilt by carbon spots.
  2. I'm sure there is a list of fairs and auctions somewhere. However the Midland is the 2nd Sunday in the month and Wakefield is the last Sunday. York & London are not every month.Harrogate was back in March (once per year). The slightly bigger Midland fair is quarterly. The next big one is in June. I think some of the forum members even have tables.
  3. That was a good purchase for £16. the seller has had some nice farthings for sale over the past couple of months.
  4. Hi and welcome to the forum. I wouldn't touch anything from China. A Godless florin is not expensive so if you want one buy from a regular dealer/UK Ebayer.
  5. There is another UNC 1910 BIN for £120 The £60 one is no longer available (please introduce yourself Coin-Select ) Here are a couple of the better ones out of the 32 currently listed on Ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EDWARD-VII-1910-SHILLING-GOOD-GRADE-E-F-/180655506043?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item2a0fe8427b#ht_500wt_927 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1910-SHILLING-EDWARD-VII-UNC-/221010085955?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item33753a4843#ht_500wt_1185

  7. Yes, at £60 it's thereabouts on price i'd say, though he's a tad strong in the grading, I think! Reverse front paw of lion, and hair and beard detail of bust, all looks a little bit beyond near UNC to me. Without the in-hand experience, I wouldn't even buy at EF (£60 would be my very top price on this one), i'd be trying to catch it for something under that, really, hoping to have a nice surprise, maybe? I have bought very few BIN's but have got plenty which have best offer option. Time newly listed is a must for BIN and best offer on pieces that have sat for a few days. My rule of thumb for best offers is just under 50% of BIN and settle on 50% I start all my coins at 99p...I have been burnt but also pleasantly surprised.
  8. Paulus If you are still only using Ebay I would suggest a visit to the one of the monthly Midland or Wakefield coin fairs. When you have seen the 100th example of the same coin you realise it isn't rare. The dealers know this and a bargain can be had.To the same extent some dates are just not available.(see how many decent 1835 halfcrowns you see) BTW how much did you you pay for the 1/-?
  9. This is no bargain but top price really. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GB-1910-EDWARD-VII-SHILLING-NEAR-UNC-/200706107541?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item2ebb042895#ht_1325wt_1397
  10. This is easier. The 1st coin is a 6D S2563 Larger bust 5A The 2nd coin is a Groat.
  11. The grade is difficult to assess from the picture. However a good price would be £35 ish for EF to £75 UNC. Apart from 1905...1903,04 or 08,09 are the better dates.
  12. Very little, I'm afraid. There were more 1910 shillings minted than any other Edward VII date. I would suggest you wait for a better one. I think Paulus already has this. As Nick said it is the most common Edward V11 1/-. It nearly accounts for 60% of all Edward V11 1/-'s minted.
  13. Can't see anyone wanting to slab a Liz 11 penny to compare. I'm sure CGS can be trusted to ID brass.
  14. For gVF money, it doesn't look a bad buy at all. It is nice to see the 4th digit It looks better than GVF.For £70 there is only one way the value of this coin will go
  15. Hi I'm afraid the bust cannot be identified or the date. All I can advise you is that it is a 6D and will be dated between 1561 and 1600.
  16. If I were you I would go on strike and not eat your mothers meals she cooks you, don't let her do your washing and refuse pocket money. That will teach her
  17. Looks well struck and the fields appear uncleaned.Without seeing it in hand it is difficult to assess between EF & UNC.There does seem to be a small bit of edge damage at 7 o'clock on the reverse.Minimum it is a £200 coin...Well done.
  18. Grading hammered is so difficult because each coin is unique. What you have is an unclipped beauty WITH a portrait which is so often completely worn. It is round and basically problem free. I would expect to pay VF+ value from a dealer. You have a cracking coin there and if you want to sell it for GF £ let me know.
  19. Peck So are you telling me you don't have a back, sack and crack
  20. http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/R231U4ZG0YDNHD/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R231U4ZG0YDNHD This is doing the rounds
  21. what condition, i have a EF one hope your birthday was good azda! If you have a 1844 farthing in EF it is worth more than £500.Are you sure?
  22. What worries me his other coins for sale aren't purple
  23. Yeap. but it lives in Portugal I would give that GVF value.Very nice with minimal edge knocks
  24. Yeap. but it lives in Portugal I would give that GVF+ money as it is fairly ding free.Very nice
