    I'm aware of a US punter buying ColinCookes finest George V1 farthings getting them slabbed by PCGS.The coin is still worth a couple of quid even if it was delivered between Kelly Brookes arse cheeks at a time when Mrs Peter was out.

    How can a hammered be graded?It ain't going to happen.I often get mine out to play tiddly winks.There is so much to weigh up with hammered.

    I will third that Seeking some wants is so difficult from Ebay,fairs,lists and auctions.We know where Spink & ESC have missed the bigger picture.

    I have bought a few slabbed coins (no CGS) As Peck briefed on low value coins being slabbed. Why? I might consider slabbing a Gothic crown or Northumberland shilling should I wish to sell them. I will continue to buy raw as a 1st choice.

    It is the only fair I go to.After a couple of hours Mrs Peter phones and I'm dragged out before my wallet is fully emptied. I've never eaten there as I'm usually stuffed from a hotel Breckie in Coventry.Great facilities/loo's etc.

    The picture is poor but even if a TPG won't grade it it is worth diddly. Personally I wouldn't want it as a freebie.

    With the hair lines (cleaned) it may have UNC details but will be low value...maybe VF £4.

    Will be avoided at all costs unless I see a glaring error.I only have half a dozen slabbed and I bought these at OK prices from dealers. Can't understand TPG's if you know your subject.

    Unique Important part of UK history. I'm glad the reverse was retained for the 1937 crown.

    Surface hairlines with AU details appear to suggest it has been cleaned.

    If it was 1693 it would be so rare..a couple of copper farthings I know exist. Often the date is not apparent due to the lack of quality control in the striking and Britannia has no head.There are some nice examples but cost a fortune.

    It is 1694 but worn and corroded.I would read its last rights and confine it away from your collection

    Anyone with two legs...or even a wheelchair can get around the Midland fair and buy quality. I've done it so much leaving the family in a swimming pool hotel..I do an early brekkie.On the way home I have a pocket full of coins KFC if they are lucky.OK a deal at the hotels is dirt cheap.We did Mcdonalds hotel for £99 including brekkie....four meals plus breckfasr. The small birdie type things was appalling.

    A good stiff drink helps reduce vibration. I still only do Ebay quality pictures.There is plenty to learn on coin photography.

    Apart from farthings I'm a quality collector rather than quantity but still have 1000's to shift.

    Anything over £250 buy or sell doesn't happen with me on Ebay. I have picked up some nice stuff and shifted a few bits.I still think it a great 24/7 resource.

    I found the Tesco burgers on our local pub menu.They were under starters.When they were served to me I took one sniff and THERE OFF.
