  1. You are not the only one.
  2. Try the link at the top of this page, or barring that, John (argentumandcoins), Stuart (coinery), Derek (redriley) or me on this forum. I don't think Clive (historiccoinage) has things this modern. Others - Michael Gouby, Colin Cooke, the list is endless. Apologies for anyone I've forgotten. You've forgotten yourself Rob (rpcoins).
  3. Remarkable how much value a little plastic can add to a coin... link
  4. Wasn't there a signficiant auction of British gold coins in Japan not too many years ago?

  11. For anyone who might be interested... link
  12. Let's see -- an 1893-S encapsulated silver dollar with a CC mintmark on the reverse with multiple examples available from mainland China. I wonder how much it is really worth
  13. Even with the 25K loss, the seller was fortunate. Cannot say the same for the buyer.
  14. Reserve has been posted at $200K ($235K with commission)... link
  15. I've submitted my bids already but I notice that when you click on "Bid Live" it pops up with: "This facility will be made available on the day of the auction." Promising, but I'd ring them today to be sure - 020 7016 1700. Based on their prior sales, that is exactly the case -- live bidding is only available on the day(s) of the sale.
  16. link
  17. After reading what you have written on the subject of currency vs proof wreath crowns, I think you are probably being too modest,
  18. One seller's trio of "EXTREMELY RARE PROOFS"... First Second Third
  19. I used to think 34 was old. Now I know better. Have a great birthday!
  20. If any of you ever frequent US coin forums you'll very quickly see that a number of collectors are paying huge premiums often many multiples of market price for attractively toned coins and goodness help anyone who might suggest to them that these coins have had some help in getting that way.
  21. "...given in change in a london nightclub in 1950. nearly causing a riot at the time, prior to 1950 I know nothing about it." link
