  1. It's shagged! Looks like it was run over. £20 start price. What a dreamer ? I sent him a message late last night telling him that lizzies a copy. He's not replied to me. Correction.....Just checked my emails. Two msgs off him/her. One rambling nonsense about not knowing him / her or if he's got a penis between his legs and another linking to a youtube video called you don't know me by Jax I stated in my original message a man who walks fields should know better than to be selling this rubbish. Appears to be taking offence at me Gender assigning him/her. Absolute idiot! But unfortunately there's nothing abusive in them that would warrant me reporting them.
  2. Sadly this is all too common nowadays. Get a good reputation selling geniune stuff then move on to selling repros and Claires accessories trinkets passing them off as detecting finds.
  3. I've often thought some of the "detecting finds" this bloke sells look suspect or dodgy. This confirms my suspicions https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Interesting-Item-Metal-Detecting-Find/152814735199
  4. Reported. Fat chance of it getting pulled though now, eBay is already tallying up the profit and rubbing their hands.
  5. Reported. Seller looks Romanian possibly so there could be a language difficulty if emailed.
  6. All the more reason to research and familiarise yourself with coins and replicas. I don't really collect this type of coinage but i can spot that a mile off. You'd think anybody parting with that kind of money for a coin would know their stuff. ?
  7. Good point. I hadn't taken that into consideration. I don't think its Bristol. I said Bristol as Calais & Bristol are the only coins of that period to feature Villa on them and he'd already ruled Calais out. Unfortunately i doubt we'll ever know , its like having 75 pieces of a 100 piece jigsaw puzzle plus the wear on top of that. Perhaps Dave G may know.
  8. Does the level not drop slightly as you pull the trays out? The drop looks larger at the front of the cabinet than it does at the back unless that's just perspective. It could raise up once they are pushed in perhaps.
  9. If it's not Calais it's Bristol. The mintmarks consistent with a Henry VI Restored half penny of Bristol. Which is spink 2090. I can't add much more to that as there's not much to go on unfortunately.

    Book Wanted

Same here. When i am not collecting coins i am studying them. I sometimes feel frustrated with the lack of information in some numistimatics books . Not this one above though just some in general.
  11. Stuck for a Christmas prezzie for the missus. Why not buy her this Rod Stewart cameo ring ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Very-Old-Cameo-Ring-Metal-Detecting-Find/152806596664
  12. I use lighthouse flips. Before i seal a coin in them though it spends a month in a dry box with silica packs to draw moisture out its accumulated in the ground.
  13. Which confirms it was likely done in Roman times. The archaeology seems to support that anyway.
  14. Strange isn't it. Its a coin but if you stick a hole in it then it becomes jewellery which becomes treasure.
  15. It looks like a half penny of Henry VI. Rosette mascle issue , Calais Mint. c.1427-1430 Ad. Villa Calais it would read on the reverse. Here's a similiar example http://www.leodishammeredcoins.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_music_info&products_id=99
  16. He was abit abrupt but civil with me. Your well within your rights to report him mate. No need for people to be like that when your offering help or advice.
  17. I thought that. It annoys me when these fraudsters name drop to try and strengthen a lie. Scumbags. Just noticed as well £10 postage. It's safe to say it won't be selling for the time being with a price like that. Hopefully other people who see it will report it and it will get removed.
  18. I messaged him also. He's said he's pulling it. Result ! ?
  19. We get found in grand dads belongings quite often or found in shed or garden but this is the new lie. Found under the floor boards. Wow do they all live in 14th century hamlets? Bloody terrible copy as well ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANTIQUE-SILVER-SHORT-CROSS-PENNY-FORMERLY-THE-PROPERTY-OF-JOHN-BRAND-R-N-S/322892100311
  20. Thats happened to me a few times. I find it annoying. I look at feedback now on sellers i am dubious about as usually you'll see other people complaining about items coming from china a month after ordering it and no mention of it being based in china in the listing or location.
  21. Another one from the lord westair collection https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/John-1199-1216-AR-Penny-Short-cross-1204-1209/192369018832
  22. Man you'd have to be a serious road trip with copious amounts of illicit drugs to even remotely believe that was a geniune coin. That's so bad. ?
  23. You've got some quality gold pieces. ?
  24. Its Friday and its a break from the thirsty job of hammering ? What a job he's got. Living the dream! ?
  25. Monkey Hanger lol. I just looked and saw he was based in Hartlepool and the penny dropped ?
