  1. Hi Geordie582, nice to hear from you after all these years, indeed since 2016. And I note from your Omnicoin profile that you are 95 on the 5th, so Happy Birthday for two days time. I also infer that time had been rather unkind to you since you seem to have adopted American language idiosyncrasies and started using the dollar and cryptocurrency, Cumbria must have changed alarmingly since my last visit and our mutual love of good old £sd! The Trump effect, I presume - 52nd state? You have to be so wary of anything you read nowadays. However thank you for your generous offer but I have just agreed to send most of my money to some African lawyers who are processing an inheritance of millions of dollars from an apparent late friend of my late mother whose name I cannot pronounce, so bit skint at the mo. Good luck with your sale, Jerry

  2. Jerry, I think it's pronounced "Day-viss".

  3. I certainly have not forgotten the coin. There are still only 3 known to me with the very wide 7. There are also a few less than 10 of the wide 7 variety. All will be clear I hope when the 1887 collection goes online for 23rd. Sep.

  4. Nerd indeed! You are paying for the beer Rob. I must admit talking about the die varieties of the 1887 sixpence has often put grandchildren to sleep. There are many unique pieces in the collection including varieties of the 14 pearl sovereign, some patterns by Lauer, and J R Thomas. Plenty of proof varieties that just are not listed anywhere and so many crowns with different rim sizes. OK I will accept slightly off the spectrum but that is what research is all about. This one is unlisted

  5. Welcome back. I thought something had happened to you given the last post on your handle was March 2017 and you were getting on a bit.

  6. Low eye appeal but high grade hammered in slabs is not such a bad thing. Let investors buy these and leaving the well struck VF for collectors 😀.

  7. The Australian penny is the London obverse I think (the common one): https://www.coincuriosity.com/view/english-and-indian-obverse-dies-on-australian-george-v-pennies.html
