A belated reply. I can't help with Col Leigh, however the coin is not at all scarce. A couple of years ago I bought a job lot at an auction of over 100 of these early Indian sub-continent coins for very little money. I suspect in the modern age of metal detectors they are turning up in huge numbers in India. They were low value when they were made and have remained that way!

I too am confused by this new volume, and this with TWO versions of the 7th Edition of the Bull ESC. Which now is ESC? And I am miffed by mistakingly getting the abbreviated 7th Edition as at the time of purchase did not know this. Another issue is that in the proofs and patterns of the 20th C. predecimal series have been in many cases mucked up.....I know, I sound the crybaby.

Does anyone here know anything about this relatively new listing for English Silver Coinage 30th Anniversary edition by P Alan Rayner? Published 15/03/2023. According to the description, I believe it is a update of the 5th revision with variety additions using the original Seaby numbering system and updated photos? This is not listed on the spinkbooks.com website which seems weird to me as it is a Spink published book. I would expect a specimen strike to be much, much sharper than this.
