yes i do, but i dont buy coins because of their composition, i buy coins because of their design or how old they are

Nothing wrong with that at all, why did you choose that name then out of interest?

Got to love the contrast between George IV on the two farthing types, he must have undergone some major plastic surgery :D

But my personal favourite is the Victorian copper series farthing portrait, I think it is much more appealing than both the halfpenny and penny portraits...but I may be slightly biased :D

Pistrucci's portrait was actually quite flattering considering what a porker George IV had become - Wyon's is pure fantasy but I bet it pleased the king no end :lol:

Hmmm, a lot of "patterns" are actually struck OUTSIDE the mint, and others of questionable origin (i.e. Bonomi so called 1837 patterns, Spink Jubilee crowns & 6ds, etc., the Moore patterns, the Smith patterns, etc. etc.).
