The successful bidder will be one unhappy bunny. It's up to £38 which is £38 more than I want to throw away! Quote

These coins have several things going for it:A) Non-legal tender coins being advertised as such A "certificate of authenticity" that is recognized by "every monetary authority" which somehow authenticates it as a "collector" product C) The fact it is a coin with crap on itD) A plastic case worth more than the coins itself Of course, I suppose I'd prefer the Harry Potter coins to the seller's other offerings including a hideous gold plated $2 bill found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310337318424 or the Obama/Lincoln/Kennedy presidential dollar coins, as if the presidential dollar series wasn't ugly enough http://cgi.ebay.com/OBAMA-JFK-LINCOLN-24K-GOLD-PRESIDENTIAL-DOLLAR-COIN-SET-/310338962372?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4841a4c3c4 Quote

declanwmagee Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 If anyone could advise on how to ignore certain sellers it would be appreciated.Do your normal search, Peter, and look in the filters area on the left of the screen. Under "Seller", hit Specifiy SellersA box will pop up. Check the box marked "only show items from", change the drop down to "Exclude", and paste in the names of those you want to ignore, separated by commas. Then hit Go to close the box, and click Save Search at the top of the page.I call mine "No Junk sellers", and my ignore list is enormous. I'm quite happy to share it if you want... Quote

Seriously though, you can see why people list junk - if it is going to sell anywhere, it is on ebay. Before I stopped selling on ebay a few years ago I listed a fairly low grade 1882/1H 1d, say no better than nVF. It made nearly £60 despite being described as such. An 1846 1d, good fine at best, made £66 despite my feeling embarassed to even consider listing it. Flat discs that sell for £1 - WHY?? A pair of QEII crowns sold. They may have been mint state, but when you sell these you think the good times will never end and it gives an incentive to try even harder. Edited August 16, 2011 by Rob Quote

Cerbera100 Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 I think it depends on the individual value and what price you want for them! For instance, a couple of years ago I had a group of 6 very nice condition (EF or better) 1930s/40s farthings - cant remember the dates, so dont ask!Listed twice as a group for a tenner plus a quid P&P, and got no more than 2 watchers either time!Listed separately at a quid (plus a quid) each, and sold all 6 to a total of £23 plus P&P! Five even went to the same buyer! Quote
