Martinminerva Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 It is a 4+C - extra leaf in third group down. 1 Quote
The Bee Posted August 11, 2025 Posted August 11, 2025 Thank you Martin that's perfect. I'll just remove the question mark ! Quote
The Bee Posted August 14, 2025 Posted August 14, 2025 Hi This is my first 1 over 1 for 1861. It may have been repaired by the same person that repaired Richards 1 over 1 They are very similar. This is 6 + E and Richards is an E reverse The difference being Richards 1 leans to the left while this is straight Best Regards Quote
The Bee Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 Hi I think I might have an 1874 H 10 + J and an 1874 H 10 + J2 (the obverses look different but I suspect its just wear) The 1874 H 10 + J is missing some of the waves under the light house AND on looking closely at the 8 in the date, its an 8 over an slightly lower 8 which was to the right. Great to get your thoughts as always Best Regards Quote
The Bee Posted August 16, 2025 Posted August 16, 2025 And checking my tray I also found this one - seems to be a bump on QV's forehead - this is London 1874 Halfpenny Quote
Zo Arms Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Did a forum member win the 1860 today? Quote

The Bee Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Apologies, I can't remember whether I have shared this one before - I think it is a 1861 Farthing with 1 over 1st 1 . There is a gap in the exegue line for "something" Quote
The Bee Posted September 15, 2025 Posted September 15, 2025 Forgot to attach the 1861 picture ! Would be great to see a better example - if that indeed is what it is Quote

Besides, I do all this on an android phone. I understand the 3 linked circles. On pressing that, it brings up a couple of apps. If I press the more apps option, it brings up my contacts. How I get it to bring up the reply section, on the half penny thread, on the pre-decimal site, I've no idea. Luckily, I don't need to do it that often. Quote

The Bee Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 Hi, Wondered if anyone could help with a query Looking again at my 1865/3 Is it the large 3 or small 3 ? Best Regards Quote
Peckris 2 Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 I've never heard of anyone differentiating between types of 1865/3 - have you ever found a seller who does? Quote
PWA 1967 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 (edited) This is a clear picture of what i believe to be a LARGE 3 i had recently. Edited December 6, 2025 by PWA 1967 1 Quote
Martinminerva Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 Yep - both types of 3 exist overdated, and yes, Bee's is a small 3 and Pete's is a large 3. Think they are about the same rarity. 1 Quote
The Bee Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 Many thanks for confirming Martin, I'll have to keep a look out for a large 3 (thanks for the picture Pete) Quote
