Well I’m with you with 6/2 I think, and undecided on the last digit. 🙂

Thanks Jon. That's reassuring to know. I've finally found Rob's post that I was looking for, which shows an example.

I can't make out the 2 under the 6. More a 6 over 6. But I think that I can see the pointy end of the 6, above the centre line of the 2.

Which brings me to this one, also within the forum. What appears to be a 6 over 6. However, I think that I can see evidence of an underlying 2, the diagonal of the 2, again in the circle of the 6. This may tie in Rob's example.   Although this may just be wishful thinking.

That's fascinating - I have a farthing of the same date with exactly the same effect (even more dramatic?):

I can't see this. If I'd not been told otherwise I'd have thought this was a 6 over a slightly rotated 6.

I thought I could see the diagonal of the 2 within the loop of the 6 when I looked at yours? Do I need new glasses?

Just to add to how rare these are although you know F474 4+C.

I have just been talking to Dave Craddock and over 40 years has looked at thousands and never found one ,in his opinion they are much rarer than R12 👍

If he tells me something is extremely rare it will be , as MOST types of BRONZE coins he will of had a few of and probably handled and looked at more than anyone else.

REV G OBV 7 raised dot after T in VICTORIA ....I am normally a little sceptical about raised dots as they seem to be percussion ridges or bumps of displaced metal ut I had a close look around and cannot find enough to suggests this ....let me know if you disagree PLEASE

Not the exact same place ,but i bought this penny the other week and in between the same letters ,maybe something to do with a setting out mark as a bit coincidental that the dot could be anywhere else on the coin.

I have not found any more reverse errors so far .  Please let me know if you have others  for my own interest.  I am not sure if many bother with half pennies but there is a lot to enjoy .

Some interesting finds there Larry. What quantities of coins have you gone through to come up with all these?

I think it is. 7 berries. And the lighthouse looks to be correct.

Spotted it yesterday and watching.

Pity about the wreckless abuse but I could live with it as an example, at the right price.

Yes, would have been quite a tidy example otherwise.

I see what you mean, but just a trick of the light I think. Another photo.

Interesting..

If it were an overdate, it should be visible under direct visual examination.

As I assume from your reply that it is not, then it probably is just a trick of the lighting.

Pity.....

Would anyone know the scarcity of the 5 + E  1861 HALP please?

Was this the coin? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/165910473932
I did bid, but felt I  couldn’t be sure. Nor with the ‘mule’ ….  mixed up obverses in the pics I suspect.

It would be good to see a photo if it is one.

Yes, that's it. The coins are well mixed up. Heart leapt when I spotted the ' mule '.

I think it's a HALP. It is a known pairing for this variety. I'll post some pics when it arrives.
