Why was some of the best music during the rave years absolute quality even though there are no words.

I have just been listening to Clock.......Holding on...... for ten minutes and still gets my head nodding and jaw going :D

Although maybe its just me who is daft  and never grown up.

Another one from 1997, and one of my all time favourites - Bittersweet Symphony from Verve.

That image of Richard Ashcroft bumping into everybody along the street has become almost iconic.

I used to love that until they hijacked it for live football on telly.

True story. My family & loved ones (not necessarily the same people) have strict instructions that, in my final hours, they should play Pressure Drop loudly.

When I don't twitch, call the undertaker.

Even now as I slowly approach my 70th, I still have to dance to Mr. Hibbert. And "What's my number" also has the same effect.

Edit:

A cry has just come from the other room "You're alive. Turn it down if you want to stay that way!"

B.

No doubt you and I are kindred spirits.

I grew up in Toxteth, Liverpool. This music was meat (er, well no, I'm veggie, LOL) and drink, and I can't think of a better exit.

We visited Liverpool to see Toots and the Maytals play a club show a few years back. They tore the place apart.

Here's another for those who may not know their work…..

And another fine tune from my youth. Around our way, if you weren't black (I'm pink, therefore I'm Spam) you were suede head. Cool times...

'Pills' (above)

In the late 1970s I was in band called Crash Course with Pete Wylie. During live shows we would bash out this song as our encore tune.

Oh, and the yellow Gibson Johnny Thunders is playing in the clip? I have that too.

Mick - my favourite version of Promised Land is by The Band on Moondog Matinée. How sad is that?

To step up several notches in class, this is one of my favourite tracks of the 90s:

The only song for gold coin collectors.

Or if you prefer the original:

Fabulous piece written by Ennio Morricone.

Definitely the original!

One of my Dad's favourites of all time, Macarthur Park by Richard Harris from 1968, followed by one of my Favourites of all time, which I heard again today and was reminded, "Can you feel the love tonight", (1994) from The Lion King, sung by Elton John:-
