  1. Just taken a closer look. Yup, deffo all wrong. Avoid.
  2. Worryingly mushy.
  3. I've attended lots of recitals and performances in the Lady Chapel, a programme of Tallis being particularly memorable. The acoustics are wonderful.
  4. On four visits now I've stood inside St Mark's in Venice and, every time, have been overwhelmed by the beauty of my surroundings. Old places of worship: y'can't beat 'em. Should anyone on here find themselves in the vicinity I recommend Liverpool's Anglican cathedral. Even us Irish Catholics have to admit the building is astonishingly beautiful. 70 years to build, and every stone carved by hand.
  5. Well at least 'Dimondgirl/Marlybob' had sense enough not to attempt it with one of these..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393711712995?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200818143230%26meid%3Da000239f2fef477e813ef7a68a48e948%26pid%3D101224%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D255237698933%26itm%3D393711712995%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DDefaultOrganicWeb&_trksid=p2047675.c101224.m-1
  6. No. It's to be placed in a shoe on a wedding day. Just buy a cheap half decent example and don't overthink it.
  7. These are available from over here. None 'icky'. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313754556907?hash=item490d3a99eb:g:HIAAAOSwwKRhNTOa https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284500352261?hash=item423d8add05:g:nAYAAOSwClthOcXg https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283654918763?hash=item420b26926b:g:0XEAAOSwNANeaQF2 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224511850624?hash=item3445f2f880:g:XFQAAOSwFRdg1357
  8. Yup, nowt wrong with that one.
  9. Bargain! Particularly as the reason for relisting being the final bid of £720 realised last time was considered too low. Why not tell her you've reconsidered your offer and go lower? In the absence of shill bids it'd be fun to know just how far down she'd go.
  10. Not Marly Bob, but didn't correct the spelling when typing as Bob Marly...... Oh, and WTF is a 'Dimond'? 😉
  11. Apologies, I must've been awol the day the 1921 penny was declared a key date and therefore circulated specimens worth hundreds. I really must try to keep up.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/3394/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=1921+penny&_sop=16
  12. £590 and counting. 34 bids from 5 bidders.
  13. Of course, you're quite right, there were more than one. I wonder if we'll see this bid up to 8K for a second time? https://www.ebay.co.uk/bfl/viewbids/255207897503?item=255207897503&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565
  14. You're absolutely right Bruce, we've been following her exploits here for a while now. Three years and three 1933 pennies, each with a background story as unbelievable and entertaining as the free form word jazz syntax of her listings. Then, of course, there was the Gothic crown....
  15. Well, well..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255207897503?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11011.m43.l3160&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=e832573d003e4a44b73442b42a684432&bu=44013324433&osub=-1~1&crd=20211103002406&segname=11011&sojTags=ch%3Dch%2Cbu%3Dbu%2Cosub%3Dosub%2Ccrd%3Dcrd%2Csegname%3Dsegname%2Cchnl%3Dmkcid
  16. We've been veggie here for decades and are always happy to try new things. Beverage from potatoes though? In our family that would've always meant poitín....
  17. Them away, not 'then away'. Apologies for the sloppy typing.
  18. I see she was not willing to shell out for a wreath crown to make up the 1933 set then? See too how all coins other than the penny are in oddments box condition so would have seen quite a few years in circulation before the deceased thought to squirrel then away inside the clock.
  19. Eight grand and 62 bids now but accounted for by two bidders only. What's the betting it's a wind up merchant (hurrah!) and a repeated shill response?
  20. £5,200. 3rd lucky 1933 find in as many years. Of course it's her: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255167767006?hash=item3b692f21de:g:WYUAAOSwcfZhKkNf
  21. If you've just eaten, I apologise. https://twitter.com/OK_Magazine/status/1422550052594147334
  22. Food for thought in an interesting new clip from Matt Williamson uploaded today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9q38CHWYNGY If you're not familiar with his channel do take a look.
  23. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294043521108?hash=item44765c1054:g:gTEAAOSwJX5fu~Vs Is not F simply the seller's assessment of grade?
  24. On each listing these statements can be found further down the page. 'Our supplier', singular, would seem at odds with the wording of those certificates of provenance. WE TAKE EVERY CARE TO ENSURE THAT THE DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONS ON OUR ITEMS ARE CORRECT. HOWEVER SPECIFICATIONS AND DESCRIPTIONS OF ITEMS ON ARE LISTINGS ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE BINDING AND ARE INTENDED ONLY TO GIVE A GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ITEM/S LISTED. ALL OF OUR COINS & ARTEFACTS ARE DESCRIBED IN THE WAY THAT WE PURCHASE THEM FROM OUR SUPPLIER. IF WE HAVE NOT INCLUDED THE DATING OF AN ITEM IN THE TITLE OR DESCRIPTION IT IS BECAUSE WE CANT SAY FOR CERTAIN THE DATING OF THE ITEM. IT IS PREFERABLE NOT TO PROVIDE DATING ON MANY OCCASIONS AS TO NOT MISLEAD THE CUSTOMER.
  25. I see a number of people are bidding on his 'ancient' Greek offerings too. Mind you, all come with one of those certificates of provenance and you can't put a price on peace of mind...... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313618758283?hash=item4905227a8b:g:eLUAAOSwOfdhAS8h https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313618953554?hash=item4905257552:g:oaIAAOSwwatg5cOm
