Hi tom ,must be worth having slabbed.The small cost may give you a better idea.I dont have a clue were you live ,you can drop the coin off at one of the shows and pick it up at a later date to save on the postage.I only buy pennies but can you get verd on silver or any other metal?

Sensible question as i dont have a clue.Can you get verd on anything but copper and bronze ?

Hi tom..I dont have a clue about hammered coins and would obviously assume they are all different although they would help maintain any significant provenance if graded.Would agree unless something that you could see was really nice,would not see any benefit. I have bought some pennies and found out the variety was not noted by the dealer.and still feel the price is well worth it.Has bill from c.g.s been making any comments recenttly as he was saying interesting contributions to another grading thread. Hi vicky silver. The c.g.s website allows anyone to look and compare a specific coin.This to me allows an opinion on grading and sometimes realistic future value .Please download a picture of a coin you feel has been overgraded.I started this post for help and maybe i will learn from you. Thanks .

Hi peck firstly the dealer was not someone i had bought off before.The point of the matter is i did not want something that was rejected.This coin may of been cleaned ,verd or scratched.and i was concerned but just asked his honest opinion.My knowledge at the time was not as good as it may be now.

Some of these tokens you purchase brg although i have not got a clue about them are really nice

Hi azda good comments. Although i have not waited much more than a month , you have three different graders to look at the coins who are not working for c.g.s full time.I may be wrong but feel the coins are taken on a rotary basis.Such as one week birmingham and two weeks later wakefield.This is because they don t employ the graders full time and means the time delay keeps the costs down .Although just my opinion.to pay £14-£24 seems to to be worth the money. Was looking at any bad experiences people have had after reading previous posts.The free data base to me. and i dont have your knowledge can sometimes be invaluable.The conflict with london coins can surely only make a small difference as the top BU price although sometimes questionable can surely only be determined by spink

All i am doing coinkat and the post was not in anyway directed at you is keeping myself busy.I decided to put a penny collection together for my grandaughter.My health is not the best and gave me an interest.I decided as an alternative although have numerous assets i would put a collection together over a short period of time for her.The plan is to then lock them in a safe and her mum would give her the key and she can auction them off for her 21st birthday.Not having a lot of knowledge with coins having the more expensive ones graded allows her to appreciate the value when i am not about and she is growing up , i am learning every day wanted to be safe in she had a few quid to spend and remind her of me. Dont want to get to deep and upset the dealer who probably visits the forum.Numerous people have sent me coins and never had a problem.However surprising when you mention A coin of £500 plus and you are intending to send it to cgs how they say they will have another look at it.Neil paisley and michael gouby have sent me about twenty coins i have had graded and no problems at all.The time and patience they spent helping me was fantastic and thats why i would continue to purchase from them.

The coin in question gary i made a bid on ebay ,The coins i send i dont give them any details ,.I want an independent view not a realised value at auction,especially with few comparables.Some have been slabbed in the past and taken out by the dealer ,some come from auctions.I have an opinion that certain coins are better with the provenance but i can keep the relevant receipts ,tickets etc.

It was easier to find than others i was trying to purchase at the time,However suppose the question is was it unc ? of which i did not find out.

Hi having used c.g.s i would you use them again .The people on the forum who have used them would you do so again.What benefits do you think you got , alternatively how could they improve ?.

Was going to purchase a £700 coin not to long ago off a dealer.and said i would buy it .However if it was rejected by cgs would they allow me to send it back as may take a month or so..He told me they dont have a clue ,but would not put his money were his big mouth was and put the phone down.It was funny at the time but if i was selling something for a few quid would hope the customer was going to be happy
