  1. Having a penis means you can be charged with being a potential rapist then>
  2. I think there has to be an agreement with a land owner as well or else the coin detecting is considered theft
  3. I think its more like intent to find a hoard, nobody knows where a hoard is (unless its in a museum)! Or maybe intent to loot finds and not declare them .
  4. Yes its really just a guess as to what actually happened , everyone who might have recorded anything is dead long ago . Very interesting though and just shows the plans of mice and men ............
  5. This interests me as well , you often find farthings and halfpennies and pennies very worn from the mid 1850s to 1859 , I know copper is a lot softer than bronze but really I suspect many coins must have been accepted at face value probably until the late 1870's . I dont think this is an unreasonable thing to the public to do after all these coins had quite a worth of copper in them . I strongly think this might have happened though it might have only been acceptable in the big citties of the time ,London , Birmingham, etc.
  6. This would have been easy if those dark age folks had learned to read and write , how lazy of them
  7. I was expecting a post about barcelona FC from looking at the title
  8. Impressive place have been to a couple of antique and collectors fairs there, and it really is a great place to visit
  9. A-UNC and NEF from me second is in similar grade really but less desireable due to week strike and stains
  10. These five farthings are currently on sale for a bargain £149 pounds for the lot - personally I would not give a fiver for the lot
  11. Something from china that will make everyone laugh Esp marleybob in a workshop at the moment bending this and trying to make it look old. What a fu king rare coin
  12. The mary rose £2 is another
  13. how about the 2019 10p and its low mintages - not a peep
  14. Strange thing about decimals is that the mass media seem to control the prices of the coins and the market selling price - just the mearest hint that a coin might be a bit valueable can send demand soaring and double the price of a coin overnight . Take the 2015 ship £2 a really low mintage and quite hard to find yet because the mass media have not publicised the coin the coin ,no demand, same with the underground £2 and the sufragette 50p . It seems we live in a society where we are told something is rare by the press and suddenly it is , very strange
  15. Obviously a hot part if china or maybe thats just the curry
  16. That shilling is a good one - I would be happy with that one reverse is abt unc and obverse looks slightly worse . The trouble with the OH obverse is they always look slightly worn even if they haven't been ,Victoria's hair is usually the giveaway. Tone is great and something to be loved
  17. For some reason 1887 shillings and sixpences are very common in high grades I really wish edward and old head shillings sixpences and florins were as easy to find they are still missing from my type set - prob 'because i'm a mean ****er
  18. A bit hard to get to unless you have a car - you can get there by rail wakefield - manchester but its quite a walk from the station and busses are less frequent on sundays - taxi is best And sorry I cannot grade that JH shilling much better than fine - a dealer should be shot for selling that as VF - at that grade is pretty much scrap silver . You could pick an EF up for £8 - £10
  19. The person who bought them - took them out of circulation years ago and probably died in the 1730's , I seriously think he never recieved any folding money for them
  20. Slabbing has death conutations , if you call it slabbing is it death of a coin? Entombing is not much better
  21. Over the years I have bought many coins from the horwich parkway collectors fair , there is usually one a month . In the last two years or so nice finds have gone lower and lower as the old dealers die and are not replaced with younger ones but I still go every so often hopeing to find something nice Coin collectors are like rotweilers they never give up .
  22. I think york is arround 85 miles from manchester , its a great hunting ground , there is a collectors fair at horwich parkway at the bolton stadium in the spring summer and autumn The birmingham fair is only 100 miles away
