  1. Hey it already shows a healthy premium on its original issue price it has taken 44 years to manage it though you would have done a lot better in sovs
  2. For those who might have a few 1953 plastic sets hanging around or o few 1953 crowns. 1953 pennies are fetching £15 in BU with halfpennies fetching a tenner A nice 1953 crown now fetches abour £6 after being almost unsellable at the start of the year
  3. I would have thought it would be made with sides - do you have any proof its a royal mint product ? There are many enginering places in the uk or abroad that could make what you have .
  4. The main trouble with halfpennies is they were not hoarded as much as pennies so there are relatively few around the victoria halfpennies also suffered from heavy usage and few have even clear dates these days . A good halfpenny collection is even harder to put together than pennies because at least there are still quite a few pennies around , there again there are more varieties in the penny series mostly of 1860 , 1861 and 1862
  5. I really feel sorry for the older and poorer people in ukraine they live from hand to mouth anyway the rich and mobile at least had the option of running away - some of the older ones even remember the nazis in the country in the mid 1940s such a shame that mans infumatitiy to man comes back 70 years later
  6. At a guess freeman looks about right it could easy be 51-100 though after what collectors have said above

  13. Like the 1953 plastic set
  14. Dont bet on that a memorial coin prob a £5 to maximise royal mint profits is probably in the planning
  15. Well its well known the population is falling , yes . Mostly out of unbarred windows ........
  16. Oh come on hes not killed 9 000 000 russians yet - give him time
  17. Well I did tell you..................
  18. The chairman of Russia's Lukoil oil giant, Ravil Maganov, has died after falling from a hospital window in Moscow, reports say. The company confirmed his death but said only that Maganov, 67, had "passed away following a severe illness". Russian media said he was being treated at Moscow's Central Clinical Hospital and died of his injuries. Maganov is the latest of a number of high-profile business executives to die in mysterious circumstances. Investigating authorities said they were working at the scene to establish how he died. Tass news agency quoted sources saying he had fallen out of a sixth-floor window, adding later that he had taken his own life. Only in russia is a fall from an upstairs window a "severe illness" I surpose the guys that pushed him were described as "medicine" .
  19. I strongly suspect whatever they are storeing will not last long
  20. Personally I think that germany will face the most problems with gas this winter along with poland and france with all countries in europe badly scared this also will leave many parts of europe very much open to virtual blackmail from Russia. THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH (the bond film) now a russian reality THE PROPHET
  21. The two olympic 2008 £2 coins are pretty hard to find along with the mary rose which seems to be kept because its a nice design .
  22. And not a mention of Elvis who works in a chippy near me
  23. The funny thing is many uses of fossil fuel (admitedly over a long time ) seem really tame compared with things the earth does to itself yet life goes on , we might make life on earth more difficult for our offspring but I doubt we will ruin the earth just by ourselves - the big exception is nuclear war I surpose....
  24. And just imagine the total effect on the enviroment of that bloody war in the ukraine the mind boggles. They don't seem to have much imagination as well with a scorched earth policy (And sod the civilians), I can imagine putin saying "Well it worked against the nazis". And "We save loads on all those pensions with all those pensioners we have killed"
