well i did get one - i must admit it is not really that awful , while the coin itself is actually a white metal (full marks for that!) the packing is super - just a shame a few details are wrong - no reeded edge to the coin but there again they have to be sure you can tell it from an original coin
NOBODY expects the Spanish Inquisition! Amongst our weaponry are such diverse elements as: fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn!
What did they call july before Julius caesar was born? Surely the romans did not walk around with several unnamed months before they were named properly - this would create lots of problems at work trying to get through to your employer what time you want off , though not as much bother for slaves as you could just refuse them any time off (great to be the boss ain't it ! ) LOL
Ok hodgeson did not on purpose set out to lose the world cup but in the end the buck has to stop with someone and someone has to go too make way for someone better (hopefully?) lol
They charge a fortune for putting it in a "plastic tomb" and cannot be bothered putting even the most basic info on the coin - they miss off the moneyer
i would love to go i went three months ago and had a field day bought loads of good stuff including a 1856 farthing e/r in fine grade for £6 , beat that guys!!!!!! I have been rota in to work today (grrrrrrrrr) and i have two adult entry tickets for the west midland safari park (via clubcard) valid for six months ( as i cannot justify traveling 120 miles just for a coin fair to my partner , there has to be something else....
I suspect it happened because of the "dent" rose obverse 20p die was twined with the wrong reverse. Easy mistake to make i would emagin when you have two different obverses and two different reverses in one year
I have had several of these mules and also had the pleasure of examining them close up (well before all the hype in the newspapers etc started),and ALL have had the defective obverse die which really should have been scraped by the royal mint . I would conclude therefore that only ONE pair of dies was used to make the mules ( though i could be wrong i surpose) Also the coins show a marked obverse and a few look in worse state than others . I would expect that the coin dies were twined up for at least a month before the mistake was noticed , pos even longer
