  1. Not by Spink but by coincraft and is quite good. Is was something that was sorely needed doing and I'd recommend anyone to buy it, having the Spink and coincraft side by side is quite useful, there are hints and tips in the coincraft book plus some pricesP.s, I'd always advise anyone to buy the book before the coin and Spink is the obvious candidate for a large date span of coinage and is'nt expensive
  2. Hmmmmm, i would disagree There Mark, books should be purchased before making expensive mistakes when purchasing a coin. Read the subject matter gives a better idea at what you're actually looking at and a 2nd hand Spink won't cost the earth nor does the new coin craft book, perhaps £50 for both.
  3. Mark, there is an upgrade to the spinks coins of scotland, ireland etc. twas published late last year by coincraft and is a cracking book
  4. You seem To be bouncing around almost every coin denomination from pre decimal through to decimal And from hammered through to milled and from all quarters of The UK. Your best bet i's to look through a few hundred pages of the "coin aquistion of the week" thread and see what exactly tickles your fancy. No One can tell you what will be the best Coins for you, that's down to what you like.
  5. More hoard, i think the finder i's trying To do The jedi mind trick On the BM regarding his statement of £200 a coin, this Would be correct in auction of course, but this is the BM who will be making an OFFER http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-30654568
  6. If verd i's toleranted Then it should be tolerated and not just When it suits a particular coin Or rarity. Prax above mentioned this coin May Have been One of his He Sold in 2009, so Obviously not

Of which there are many of those Rob unless you use manly kneepads and ky gel
  8. To me it lookd like it is pointing directly at a tooth.... Difficult to be certain of anything from the image.... especially on a cell phone screen.... Agreed, pointing at a tooth for me also. Best to wait until in hand
  9. If you look through the posts regarding CGS and what they have and have not slabbed and reasons for not slabbing, it would be an absolute waste of anyones time and money sending a hammered coin to CGS for slabbing.Regarding the penny in this post, I find it down right ridiculous that they can slab a coin with all its problems a few years ago and yet seem so f**king elitest these days, you'd think they don't need the business, moving the goalposts just pisses on their own chips in My eyes
  10. The bigger businesses would use interlinkexpress. I use them through another company when in Scotland, i can send up to 30 kilos within the EU for £22 (was £15) and my last box arrived in 2 days. I don't think individuals can just wander into a depot and post though but definately worth checking out amd see what is required, maybe there's something in it for you as an agent for them?
  11. I thought there was some EU-USA partnership in the pipeline? Not sure how it works with import taxes though
  12. So what are the alternatives?
  13. £11 to £84, so what extra service are they giving you for the £73 increase? Have you checked other courier services for prices? RM seem as though tgey want to lose customers
  14. So you can't add extra insurance? So what about Hermes or other carriers? Or if he was a part of the ebay global shipping?
  15. Its from the UK to Germany. You can buy extra insurance feom the PO, normally a tenner is up to £500 and an extra couple of quid for an extra Couple of hundred insurance.
  16. £60 overseas postage and when i asked if this was an error his reply is in the 2nd image
  17. You have a choice of TPGs
  18. You paid import duty on a book?
  19. To slab or not to slab?
  20. Some more pictures circulating of this hoard

  23. Well you boys know better.
  24. I'm not so sure though Rob, even IF they were never to see the light of day surely the mere fact that collectors know another 5200 of these have been found would'nt it be enough for people to start panicking that they now have a common coin?
