  1. Nice bit of rainbow toning. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Authentic-1971-2-Pence-England-Coin-with-Extensive-Green-Patina-/321233925812?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item4acb08b6b4

  3. Hi rpreddie, Coins over 100 years old attract a charge of 5% and coins less than 100 years old attract a 20% charge, this charge is on top of the buyers premium so you pay it on the whole final cost of the coin Any postage and insurance is also included. Ensure the declaration also included the commodity code otherwise they will most likely just add the 20% flat rate.
  4. I would highly recommend Peter Nichols but, alternatively, many auction houses have some in a 'Miscellaneous' section, such as London Coins. It's worth looking around auction houses as you can often pick up a real bargain. Connor if you do go the coin cabinet route the type of wood is important as the chemicals in some woods can badly effect your coin. Mahogany seems to be the wood of choice.
  5. Robbed whilst ordering a pint? Not what I expected the situation to be at all. When did you last buy a pint in a pub. Is it common for cars to have internal motion detectors. They tended to be troublesome for false alarming. Widows are a favourite because they dont alarm.

    Oops!

In Latin Jesus is spelt lESVS so using an L could be forgiven.
  8. I didn't realise the TPGs slab fantasy coins as well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1936-Great-Britain-Silver-Sovereign-NGC-PF-66-Ult-Cameo-/310767050789?pt=US_World_Coins&hash=item485b28e025
  9. Sticky matress = difficulty in rousing oneself in the mornings. Fortunately nothing whatever to do with newlyweds! When standing in a hole it's best to stop digging.
  10. I attended a couple of years ago and picked up a 1902 low tide penny UNC with nearly full lustre for £25. It was the 2 to gap variety which I wasn't even aware of until two weeks earlier when you auctioned on for £400.
  11. "This listing was ended by the seller because there was an error in the listing." What, you mean the mankini WASN'T included after all? Perhaps a lesson in keeping your ebay details secret, especially from the wife.
  12. It would be cheaper to have bought half of the DNW sale than get divorced and you can trust me on that one old bean! For future decision making on this, a quick Excel copy/paste reveals it would have cost over £800,000 for half the 2 day sale (including juice) DNW don't want your testicles or the rest of your life in payment though Paul Oh they do, but just without all the incriminations and anamosity.
  13. Well it look as though my lot is not what it was described as I'll have to look into what my options are.
  14. ...and they are all being hoovered up by one buyer (no 16). I think No 16 is buying on behalf of others as he was buying loads yesterday, I think it was him sitting at the table and was taking telephone bids.
  15. Well it's all going very slow, it taken 1 1/2 hours to get through the first 100 lots. My interest isn't until around lot 300, This chair is not too comfy, I think I,m growing an extra crack.
  16. Taking into consideration it's now entombed 2k is letting you off lightly.
  17. If you would like to break it again about mid afternoon tomorrow I will be forever in your debt
  18. Not so much of a laught, just plain dishonest. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GEORGE-V-BRONZE-PENNY-1933-CONTEMPORARY-FORGERY-/360736217761?pt=UK_Coins_BritishMilled_RL&hash=item53fd8ddaa1
  19. I have just picked up a 1933 Crown of the bay and just wanted to see a picture of the fake just to make sure mines a good'n.
  20. Good to meet you as well Declan, It's nice to be able to put a face to a name. I did have a good day as I managed to pick an item that I had been looking for at a local boot sale earlier in the morning. I didn't buy anything from the Midland so perhaps not so good.
  21. I vaguely recall a discusion about a fake 1933 crown sometimse ago but can't find it. Can anyone else remember this and when it was.
  22. Not to mention spelling and punctuation But it's in a slab - it MUST be all right! Come on guys cut him some slack. That's a mega rare copper edition, the bronze ones are ten a penny.
  23. Dave, I think I married your wife's sister...my wife is the same! LOL I don't suppose she's one of triplets
  24. But in 1549 was there just one mint? I did wonder if it coinsided with the introduction of the Gregorian calander but that was not until 1582. Perhaps Edward VI saw it in a dream and it's stuck ever since.
