  1. very nice farthing, looks to be in a very nice grade, laurate head 1826 too, this farthing i would put at about £20-30 due to it being the scarcer type for the year and a very good grade, the knock on the obverse does retract a little from the value, still a very desirable piece, and i really wouldn't be surprised if it was up to £50. ok as for grade, its extremely fine, as for value, as i said above, in the book EF is £50 but books are not always accurate and there is a knock on obverse
  2. true i guess, but i have had some of my nicer pieces from bulk buys i got on the cheap. i plan to hold onto these coins in the long term. and i have some very nice specific coins that are worth a good chunk alone, that are more specialist and as such if i did sell i would sell them to people who knew about the area (1858 small date farthing, 1939 rhodesia 6D etc) wish i could afford lustrous pennies from before geogrge V, i'll stick to partial lustre farthings and enjoying my 1858 small date farthing.
  3. hmm, am i missing something with the 65?
  4. lol rip off much, i'll stick to ebay and my dealer usualy a bargain to be had somewhere, trhats my investment, if i pay below book price i cant lose
  5. depends, might be something in the 1989 if its claim of rights, isn't that one scarce?
  6. o i can see that.. that ghosting is cool too mine has a bit more trident prong
  7. yea i dont get why 2 pronged trident is listed... its just a worn die my 1840 has 2 1/2 trident prongs lol have bought a couple of interesting farthings (see the 1845 one in the Coin aquisition of the week thread but yea, if there is one example known then sure, if its listed as a specific variety and there is one other known its definatly worth taking...... just not at £19k if i had 19k i would probably make sure i have EVERY penny from 1860-67 in EF+ lol (except 1882 london obviously)
  8. yea the dirt is the problem, never heard of a T there before so its hard to check out so many repunches on here hard to tell what anything is B seems to have bottom serif missing
  9. odd term for full unc copper. even though its bronze and is sometimes yellow
  10. just been looking up farthings on aboutfarthings.co.uk it seems to say something about a 5 over 5 on there does the F in Fid look over T to you :/ hard to tell really
  11. yea i buy all these bargains knowing full well how much profit i can make but i wont sell em lol some coins you have to get what you are given, i have a clear date 1879 narrow date penny... cant see me seeing another one let alone a better one lol
  12. CCGB says £20, so yea, its aEFrather then VF, VF has more wear on the portrait and brittania
  13. or they could do something like those plastic capsules and put the grade etc on the side. that would save the space problem. or a removable card
  14. true but if you buy on the cheap, any upgrading you do can be topped up with a small profit from the lower grade but yea impulse buy, not going to get a decent bun halfpenny for that money for a while so sure why not and for free, the 1932 is good enough
  15. and got this out of the 5p tin... for free lol
  16. been to my dealers today, bought some cheap bargain bin stuff like normal, but had my eye on a coin i spotted on my last visit, so i bought it (wasn't sure of ballpark value in the first place) so yea got this beauty for £2, it was up for 3 but hey :/
  17. i have a fair few of our quids. who knows in 200 years i have the halfpenny fakes from the period, some are worth a good chunk of money though
  18. i have a 1999 1 franc in EF\Unc and 1998 5 similar grade but BU? how rare is 1999 franc anyway
  19. yea, its a bit odd, its had a fair few repunched letters, so hard to tell anything, the F in FID is an oddity, either way its a great coin
  20. i dunno? would they? if they had a genuine one, a slab saying as such would be benefical
  21. yea i wasn't sure which mint etc it was, its one of the restrikes got that for £8 though, which is under the going rate what about the farthing though, V's for A's?
  22. yea i posted it once, you can JUST make out the alignment of the 1 didnt know it was one until i acctually viewed the photo to upload it so there was a differance in alignment
  23. i dont agree it should sel for that either, its plain stupid
  24. that US cent is awesome, bit modern for that sort of money but MS-70 is top grade possible isn't it?
  25. i want one lol i'll stick to my F169 penny then :/
