  1. more bun pennies i knew nothing about.. 1862 mules? what?
  2. lol isn't that a personal collection from some bygone collector?
  3. i have rdcently dug out my 1970 proof set, when i got it some of the coins had slight toning, now i dont see any extra toning from when i remember getting it, but its only a small ammount, how much toning is normal for 40 years for coins still in the orgional casing
  4. wow... your right, that date looks normal rather then incuse with that other picture
  5. buns have bene like this for a while, only one i could get off the bay at a reasonable price was an 1887 in F... i''m sticking to the tins of "scrap" pennys you never know.
  6. yea, but it is still a repunch and 8-15 in existance? possible, as the 6 would wear down wouldn't it? i would say there would be far more thne 8-15 made but for wear etc thats all we have
  7. fantastic even if i can't afford anything will be a great referance
  8. now that is interesting, because remember this "slanted 8?" it looks exactly the same bar the chunky bottom of 8, it is these moments i wished i had a very good zoom feature but there is a small something on the photo in the upper part of the 8 (cant see it by eye but there is definatly something running parralel with the 6 and the top part of the 8 seems to sink) of course eye and photo show 2 differant thinks (like the first 1 is visible clearly to the eye) but then again, without the zoomed date you cant see the overstrike on there either. not that i would pay £400 odd pounds for what is a repunch... i'll just gaze around looking for this particular datespread and slanted 8
  9. i think 1896 is the exception, most 1896 i have seen have that spread, other dates its usualy the #2 #3 spread thats more common, with #1 being narrow etc
  10. i guess its like the 1992 2005 and 6 10p's
  11. i havn't gone through them properly, i have a bag of em somewhere, i have only found differance on the 1965 though
  12. was looking at my sixpences for some reason. and spotted some interesting things. large beads, small beads different cross pointing, was wondering if these are listed anywhere
  13. odd, i got on fine read a few threads on chrome and up comes the message... getting annoying
  14. The Sun is read by the people who don't care who runs the country as long as she's got big t*ts. as opposed to being big t*ts? I would think the Royal mint would know how many they minted interesting that Lavrillier designed a pattern 1933, isn't that the same guy who did french pieces in the late 30's?
  15. ahh that site is very handy, i still use that for my bun heads depends what you want to get into though.
  16. and i would still take a 1954 over one
  17. what about a rubbing. or the coin quickly sketched onto some card?
  18. another recent find in a change jar, lustre looked odd, was because of doubling on obverse
  19. got this a few days ago. every time, useless coins 1997 50's type 1 and 2 1992 10ps and i glanced at that obverse when i got it and put in pocket not very pleased as it was 3rd in a row i got the rubbish, took it out again later and spotted the shine. found this when sorting through some 20p's
  20. i'm only interested if the 1933 is inside the foil
  21. i have 2 of those... i plucked out an EF 1984 20p O.O
  22. i know they are pretty common, i picked mine up for about £2. so expect about the same, but tbh, they very nice on the eye
  23. i couldn't see the date on that penny i liked some of those designs in the background in the mint interview. but yea, fakes why should people get rid of em if they lose the money doing so. i kept my fakes there are some very good ones as well. best one i found.
  24. everything is her fault anyway
  25. come on george V was a collector, he MUST have had one.
