  1. going through the crap is great.. remember the 1900 in EF with 11 bits of junk i got for like 20p each i got plenty of great value pieces to be smug about how about a coin worth 100x more then i paid
  2. there is an open 3 1903 penny on ebay.. it had a reserve that no one met :/
  3. i havn't had a sinlge £2 in change for like 3 days.. always £1's
  4. nah all £2 coins are rare... because every single one is on flipping ebay
  5. buy a country? is ireland cheap? i hate the euro for these reasons, so many currencies have been lost.
  6. I like the mary rose one. the bible one looks a bit bland though, so much unused space.
  7. HALF unbarred A and top of F missing
  8. i hate the euro, franc was always 10 - £1 mark always 3 - £1. euro is some random number you can not convert quickly, rather annoying that and they are ugly apart from the special issues, i got a tri-metalic german 2euro (had a random copper band where the join is between the usual 2 pieces) incednetly i have the 1992 ecu set.. all i can say is thank god we arn't spending those, the highest denomination is quite big
  9. priced did increase during the euro changeover, that i can confirm as during the euro period prices were shown in both currencies, i have 2 of the same objects bout a year apart, one bought first year of euro - 4.54, next year 4.80
  10. way ipswitch are going it could be that price again come up north for sub £3 pints i dont really remember much, i only remember the large 50p's and the early days of the small 10ps (and getting a few old 5p's ) kept a few of the large 50p's including a 1985 i salvaged in 1996
  11. YH is nice, i prefer the scaling of the halfpennys, but those cost too much. speaking of halfpennys and odd lettering.
  12. ebay should get rid of those stupid £2 listings as well
  13. give em a carwheel twopence then see how gobsmacked they will be
  14. 2011 50p in change how? i think 2010 will be a nice low mintage year
  15. yes i saw that next to the 5, i have no idea what that is as there is no reason for anything but a 5 there
  16. couldn't see anything by eye and i know these can get a bit grotty. whcih is indeed the case inside the 7 this image doesnt show it, but it does show the detatched shamrock reverse, which was also around in 1856, having seen pictures of the 1856 i can also say the 6 does reach slightly higher then the 5 next to it (as the 7 is level the top part of the 6 would show over the top) but i can decide whether it is a bit of dirt or an overstrike, i dont see anything there at all to the eye to say it is dirt itis only after zooming in on photoscape i found this (i always do this to check for errors etc)
  17. i have one of those, quite nice design
  18. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/British-Two-Pound-Error-Coin-Beading-Error-/110614666737?pt=UK_Coins_BritishDecimal_RL&hash=item19c125ddf1 yet another, common error coin being bid over coin face.. really now
  19. tha happens on a few £2 these are the latest date commemoratives i have
  20. you are also excluding the george V farthings. i have a well struck and a poor struck 1918 all in EF+
  21. the early ones seems to have defects on them, i thought the mint would have fixed those by now
  22. my sister did... then spent it
  23. i have the dome £5
  24. whats the bet on some wedding coins next year
