  1. that medal is quite stylish, i'm surprised that it doesnt have that font they used everywhere.
  2. shame belgian coins are boring french medals are the best imo. but yea show em, i have nazi oins, what differance does it make really.
  3. i have been to the eurozone a few times. french euros seem to pop up everywhere, got one in finland a few months back when i was there for the day O.O
  4. i had a look through my pennies again.. my 1934's wern't there so i put those seperate anywho, i found a couple of interesting bits shame it is a dark picture, but it has partual filled 2 this is a holed 1896, whether whatever caused this was man caused or not, the tide is only visible when you shine it in thelight (angle it and the light refelcts back as faint line that is the tide) but you can see it at the lower rock line near the foot.
  5. it does have the french look to it. but that thing is very bizzare, interesting history about it.
  6. yes i have one of the filled 2's in average grade. might have to look at my 34's again
  7. 2.94) Freeman 188*, Dies 2+B, part filled date numeral 2. the 1920 filled 2? that 1934 sounds interesting.
  8. i think they have, 1945's were mint darkened and there is wear the colour is just wrong
  9. looks alright to me, wear seems about right as my 1882 is similar. but i cant find anything on that date existing
  10. what caused this strange lustre
  11. the coin isnt the best, but look at the shame of the I it gets chunkier near the rim.
  12. definatly over something. what are the thoughts on this? I over I?
  13. i got a 2010 penny here, cuds on a fair bit around the ONE PENNY, but this could be part of the situation, we talk of lustre, however this coin has an interesting effect, it has a bright lustre in a circular area in the middle of both sides, with a darker lustre from rim to the same distance from the ONE PENNY, is this TWO differant wavelengths?
  14. i have a couple of coins that have the lustre colour but no shine on it.. its definatly not the metal mix or dirt what is tonong anyway
  15. yes the alloy effect is very bizzare when you get the streaks. but tonong still has the cartwheeling, and i have brown coin as well, with the sheen and no cartwheeling on proofs, the polished dies make no waves?
  16. i have an interesting example of protected lustre never sene lustre on low grade before i have a coin that is brown, however the fields are shiny, lustrous, but dont have the colour toning to me is still lustre, if it had lustre when it started, and only thing that has made it tone/fade is natural causes and not handling then the grade should not change. especially as those streaky compount bronze coins brong an interesting point, some bits shine better then other parts because of metal mix.
  17. talinn? i was there last week, lovely place, coinage isnt that exciting, but 1 kroons have a nice design.
  18. quite funny that one, another funny one is the guy listing 4-5 edward VIII africa coins (common) as rare,... its rare yet you have so many listing... lol
  19. right, i see.. and now i have to dig out all my 1922's... thanks :/ wonder if the 1992 small head 20p is a mule :/
  20. to cut costs apparantly http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/consumertips/banking/7979997/New-steel-5p-and-10p-coins-a-disaster.html however it will cost a fortune changing all the vending machines, due to changes in thickness, after the mess the mint have done minting the new design.. they better plate these properly because steel erm rusts... :/
  21. more bun pennies i knew nothing about.. 1862 mules? what?
  22. lol isn't that a personal collection from some bygone collector?
  23. i have rdcently dug out my 1970 proof set, when i got it some of the coins had slight toning, now i dont see any extra toning from when i remember getting it, but its only a small ammount, how much toning is normal for 40 years for coins still in the orgional casing
  24. wow... your right, that date looks normal rather then incuse with that other picture
